However, I'm one of the few that feels like our talent is severely overrated.
In that regard, exactly how many #1 recruiting classes has LSU had?
Talent is good, yes. Superior to everybody else,no.

well what do you call one of our linemen getting called offsides 4 TIMES? I don't think I've seen anything like that before.

is he the bad coach for letting a team like Arkansas almost win, or a great coach for inspiring his team to come from behind like that with a reserve qb and 2 reserve OL?
he's an imperfect coach trying to manage the inevitable ebb and flow of an imperfect game...based on his record he seems pretty good at it

It's a legit criticism. Miles seems content with bad performances that result in a win, although I think that's him just reacting after a win.
I'm glad he enjoys his job enough to be happy about winning but the really competitive coaches aren't usually satisfied with lack luster performances the way Miles is or appears to be.

It's Les Miles. Somehow he ends up with a bunch of wins.

You must have missed the following sentence where I said LSU made plenty of mistakes. My point was that Arkansas did not make many of those mistakes and executed (sealed blocks, didn't drop passes, few penalties)

based on his press conference, I don't think he was satisfied with the win as much as happy for his players that they pulled it out. He probably does have more "fan" in him than some coaches. But the object of the game is to win, after the game you celebrate winning, the day after you focus on the performance.

I'll take his old-school football offense against any gimmicky systems that would likely replace him. Game-day mental preparation is seriously frustrating, though.

Oh, I agree with all that... But I do understand the critics of Miles on this issue. I don't necessarily think it's as big of an issue as they make it out to be.

Yall need to realize that LSU's biggest weakness is run support by our LB's. Why did we shine against A&M??? Because we have great coaches (plural which includes Les) and our LB's didn't need to play run support on the RB's the whole game.
Why did we not shine against Ark? Because they are the opposite of A&M and we defensively do not match up well against their style of offense.
That is it in a nutshell.

I think he is who he is. Although IMO he has lost a bit of his edge, and has probably peaked . The alternative is such an unknown that the present looks better than it should......

His winning is consistent.
It is, you're right. It's how he gets a bunch of those wins that bothers me. I like to look at how we get it done as opposed to getting it done. How we get it done is absolutely terrible. It's miserable watching this team play like shite against bad football teams. It's miserable because we should beat the dog shite out of everyone on our schedule outside of Alabama.
We're an inconsistent football team in terms of how we play, and always will be. Most coaches would be upset with the way we performed yesterday. Not Les though. Wow what a game.

I am thankful for having les as a coach and that has zero to do with his decision making. trust me........

Les hasn't lost less than 2 games a year in his entire career.
Tell us how many coaches you know of who hasn't averaged losing two a year in their career.
Then, tell us how many SEC coaches you know who have gone undefeated in a SEC season.
LSU hadn't done it in 50 years before Miles.

Michael Oher had 4 false starts Thursday night in the Ravens game.

Les is the victim of a lot of overreaction both ways. He is lauded for his recruiting being amazing and then crucified for his lack of coaching that talent to titles.
Truth is that Les isn't near as amazing of a recruiter as people want to believe and not near as bad of an X's and O's coach as others think.
He's a good coach in a good situation that has helped him achieve very good success.
