Relativity is technically only a theory too, but do you want to argue that?

I don't see why Murphy wasn't granted a medical redshirt last year. Can he still get one after this season, if he wants it? I know there have been many players who petition after the fact and get a favorable ruling.

Just seems unfair that the kid has been unable to shine because of RB depth and bad luck. It's not like he's done badly when he's played, either.

Murphy will be an average 3rd down back.

Hopefully, Wilson wont play running back politics and start the guy with the most talent. If Ford shows up in the fall in great shape, I'd like to see Miles start him like Arnsparger did with Hilliard as a freshman.

Uh,....Stovall was the coach when Hilliard was a freshman?

Comparing Murphy to Hardesty is not legit on account of Hardesty not winning the Heisman and getting drafted #1 overall in teh National Football League. Which anyone with a brain knows is exactly what Ricky Murphy has got in store in the upcoming calendar year.

RB situation will be interesting next year. My gut says carries will be evenly distributed at the beginning of the season to Ridley/Murphy/Ford. I'm pulling for Murphy, but he tends to try to run outside and isn't always fast enough. Ridley and Ford will probably end up with a majority of the carries. My best guess:

Scott '09 = Ridley '10 (majority of carries)
Williams '09 = Murphy '10 (initially 2nd string)
Ridley '09 = Ford '10 (ends the season as arguably the top back)

I hope he does because with the still questionable QB position, we will need all the stud running backs we can get. Problem is every year we keep hearing how he will take over, but yet hasn’t. He has the chance this year. Hope he succeeds.

Gore gets carries before Ware? If he's only going to get 7 carries, why burn the redshirt?

Again, Ware is the same type of big back that Ridley and Ford are. Ware brings nothing new to the table. Gore is the speedy scat back like a Trindon or S. Carey that we don't have. He will probably play on special teams so he won't redshirt anyway and you have a similar guy next year in T. McGee. So why redshirt him?!

If these three guys stay healthy, and we stick to our strength(running the football), we could get by with an average OL and not have to rely on JJ to make plays for us. But.... our outside threats(TT,RR,RS, and whoever else steps up and makes plays) are also very promising if we can get them the ball.

He got 2 last year. Ridley got 45.

Running backs carried the ball 314 times last year. CS carried 116 times last year and KW and Ridley carried for a combined 115 times. I think those carries go to Ridley and Ford because Miles likes bigger backs. Sheppard and Holliday combined for 77 carries. I think those get split between Murphy, Gore and Sheppard. Plus Murphy is coming off a knee surgery. Did he even play in the spring game?

Ridley is a bowling ball Michael Ford has all the tools to be the top back I say he wins the job a few games into the season, but Ridley will still be solid

I agree from what I saw Ford has better vision and is capable of finding holes vs. hitting a hole that isn't there and driving forward for 3 yards if we're luck.

In the spring game ford created yards on cutbacks when our line failed to open holes....

We all know how important this is given the status of our line.
