Murphy is in Jaguars camp, there is only 4 runningbacks in camp so his chances are good. Also via twitter he did very well in the scrimmage yesteday. i saw a couple fans tweet he was one of the most impressive there

A fool and his money are soon parted.
You put too much stock into this rating thing.
Compared to '10 JJ's 108th(?), Lee was the 77th rated passer in '08 with a 117 rating. He single handedly cost LSU games with pick sixes enroute to LSU's only losing SEC season of the decade.
JJ was 68th in 2009. Did that secure a great season? Not really.
Do you want 77th or you want Ws
And dont forgett tho JJ is not a true passing QB, he has made alot of plays with his feet that helped us win games
RUDY i ask u this, name the Qb that has played well enough to take it from him. Lee is just as inconsistent as he is just lest mobile. Mett hasnt shown th greatnest ppl thought he would in the spring game (not saying he didnt well just not enough to say he is the clear starter).
at of ALL this fighting over who should start. NONE of the qbs in the spring game really out performed JJ to say the least. Not enough to say he shouldnt be the starter going in. Also i think JJ can improve and will improve. I dont like this thing if u like one guy u have to hate the other. its silly. they all where purple and gold and should be supported. Im glad JJ has some confidence cuz i kno the talks and booos from the crowd affected a man. NONE of you have to deal with pressure like that, so kudos to miles staying behind his QB
re: Rayville High School has a new head football coach

Actually it was afirmative action nor a mistake. Although Bursey had a losing record, i asked alot my friends who played for him and that grew up around the school. Everyone said that his record does not reflect how good of a coach he really is. Fair Park is located in a horrible area. its a very bad school. It can not be shut down because its a historical school. so parents have the option(if they can afford it) to pull there kids and move them to better schools. This left Bursey with little to no talent. The school was very notorious for the kids that went to school there. But Bursey changed that and had a very high graduation rate among his athletes. He kept them out of trouble. He also runs offensive spread guy, but his focus is on defense and fundamentals( 2 areas that Coach Barton struggle at). So it wasnt a bad choice. I met Breen the day they introduced the finalist and asked alot of questions. He didnt have that belief that rayville could be a 3A power and thats what hurt him.

I dont see what the problem is. now i said not to waste a 1st on him , but that was thinking we were not gonna make any moves. we got what need where two top players fell to us. its not like we gave up our entire draft like atlanta did to get julio. most likely we make a great run in the playoffs or the superbowl, and that draft pik will be a low.
none of the ppl u just named was drafted by the ppl who is in charge now other than ellis, and he has done well just need another big guy in the middlw
As much of an lsu fan i am, i love and respect mark ingram as a player and a man. But if u havent heard, we have chris ivory returning who is probably at way greater value than mark is right now, we just signed pierre thomas to a 4 yr contract, and the saints front office plust coach sesn psyton hsve said the were working on a deal to keep reggie. so with all of them returning it doesnt make since drafting a RB in the first round when we have serious holes still to feel on defense.if he is the best left on the board so be it. but the front 7 in this yrs draft is so deep i dont see where we would not choose defense in the first three rounds
re: Trade Paul in the offseason!!
Posted by Smitty55 on 3/11/11 at 10:05 pm to ScoopAndScore
Everyone says paul wants out. Question: When did this actually come out his mouth. I remeber paul saying he loves N.O. and wants to stay, he just wants to play for an organization committed to winning. Now considering the old ownership trading our best big man, im not surprised that paul had questions. I think Lebron/Melo situation is diff from ours. Lebron and Melo made comments about their desires to play someone else. Paul just wants to play on a team with a chance to win which he hopes is here
as much as reggie may mess up, defenses still have to gameplan and prepare for him because if u dont he will carve u up. he may not be the best reciver or the best runningback, but all those skills put together is deadly and that is what SP loves.

im not saying too not improve the offense, im saying defense should be priority one
Peopple enough about Offense
Posted by Smitty55 on 2/22/11 at 6:08 pm
people stop talking about gettin offensive players. After Marshawn Lynch Tossed all 11 of our defensive players around on one play we dont need mark ingram or joseph addai. We need to use all our resources this year to get linebackers and Defensive lineman
re: Thoughts on Ingram being a Saint?

i think we should spend all our draft picks on defense this yr. and find a better left tackle
quote:
because he went off against our defense in a spring game which was split up between 2 teams, neither of which had drake nevis, josh downs, kelvin sheppard, or any true freshman currently contributing. people calling for ford as the savior of the offense is a joke. "just give him 5 plays, i don't care that he doesn't know the play book" yadayadayada. the truth is, he's similar to the other backs in terms of talent, so if they know the playbook and are more trustworthy, then of course they will play over him.
this
quote:and this. it must be something he is doing or not doing in practice for them not to play him. Im not at the practice so I must trust the coaches to put in the best player to win.
It ain't no business of yours why the coach knows why and thats all the matters. Belive it or not, you mean nothing to the coach whenn they are out there on the field. The coach is paid to win and the team plays to win and thats what they are doing so you probably will never know the reason why because that isn't an important thing for the coach.
re: So R. Murphy, D. Peterson status for next week
Posted by Smitty55 on 9/19/10 at 9:48 am to DaSaltyTiger
but i dont think its that bad though. i just think it was bad enough to keep him out the game. i read somewhere that he didnt practice til thursday. also i saw him dressed out in the game. if it was serious enouh to keep him out for a long time i think he would have been in regular clothes. but he told me friday that he wasnt goin play this game, but its likely he comes back next week
when was lead blocking on a play during the vandy game, the player was talked and it kinda landed on him and he strained his hamstring. he didnt practice til thursday so they didnt play him today(he dressed but didnt play). its funny with everyone talking about some of the freshman are better than murphy and should be the #2 back. and with him out no one stepped up 2 show they desrve it  i thought that was funny
