Do you think he'll stay at LB, or do you think he'll eventually move to safety?

Good question and I've wondered the same. He's a great pass rusher so maybe we should put 25 lbs of muscle on him and make him an OLB

The coaches want him a OLB so that's where he'll stay

linebacker. an athlete like that at outside linebacker is a huge boon, especially with the way he rushes the qb

Speed on defense is so important, i hope he stays at LB. That speed at harder to find at LB than safety.

I think he adds about 20-25 lbs of muscle in the offseason and stays as an rush OLB... The dude is just going to be an absolute monster! At least I did call it in the offseason saying he would have the biggest impact as a freshman outside of Stingley

Agreed. He burns past people regularly.

I think it depends a lot on what Stevens decides to do with the draft.

Which puts him at 215-220.

Still not big enough to be an every down player

But you could use him like Stevens, he can be on the field every play. Even rush the passer (Stevens leads team in sacks). Wreak havoc in the box and develop him for where he will play in the nfl

He's similar to what everyone wanted with Holiday at DE

I think he will be the next stevens. Which is good because the blueprint for his role is in place already.

He'll be fine at 220-225lbs... With most teams converting to spread/rpo schemes, the times of needing 235+ pound LBs are gone. Debo Jones weighed about 220 and Kwon Alexander was around 225lbs during his senior year. Brooks is probably around 200lbs now.

Neither are pass rushers. He cant rush the passer at that size and try and beat an OT every play. Thats why he only plays 5 snaps a game.

a Stevens role is a lot like what Debo and Alexander played. More of a rover

I think he's the prototypical Jack LB that Aranda wants. Can do it all, rush the QB, play coverage, and tackle in space. Once he gets better at reading/shedding blocks which will come with more experience he'll make a lot of money for himself.

Brooks said a few weeks ago he was up to 212-215

25 pounds would put him the same weight as Chaisson

Chaisson as you saw Saturday drops in coverage a lot

I would love to see him a safety too but they tried him there and O said it wasn’t best for him. Plus next year your starters at safety are likely Hampton and Harris

Do you have some official snap count to back this up?

Sure seems like he's been playing more the last quarter of the season
