If they are terrible like they were last year does McMahon enter year three on the hot seat?

They'll probably be pretty bad.

Given that the former coach already has another gig, if they suck like last year he damn well better

This is such a bad take. There are TONS of examples where teams have completely turned teams around in a season even with the threat of sanctions. It is pure garbage that fans want to blame someone else for a coach that proved to be incompetent. Bunch of “blame everyone else on their problems” kind of people in here. The funny thing is they refuse to look at the difference like transfer portal, NIL, etc that has made it even easier to do that now.

team will be significantly better. last year two guards who played lots could not shoot at all, hannibal and hill. this year those positions have been massively upgraded, as well as more size and athleticism. last year there were guys like kendal coleman that got minutes. he would never play a minute on this squad.

I’m just hoping we finish in the top half of the conference and make an NIT run. It’s sucks to have such low expectations, but it’s realistic

Thanks for making my point - turnarounds don’t take five years. If he doesn’t show significant signs of one this year, he’s on the hot seat. No excuses (transfer, nil make it easier). Now go take your Xanax and calm down.

.500 season should be a realistic goal for next season. 24 will be the make or break season for McMahon.

They’ll improve. The roster is far better and fits what McMahon wants to do much more.

The real question is will they improve enough to appease the fan base? My guess is no.

Yes.

Still not a great roster but at least you know you have some louisiana guys as the backbone. You know cook isn't going to quit.

Cook isn't cleared to play yet for lsu by the impotent ncaa.

If Cook doesn't play I am writing this team off. I didn't renew my season tickets because I am sure you can get free tickets for most games this year.

Lsu needs to find another Seneca knight type player to put them over the top

It will be interesting to see who has the better season, McMahon in his second season at LSU or Wade in his first season at McNeese.

This season does need to be better but the true test for McMahon in the next year is since everything is finished with the Will Wade stuff how does he recruit.

I think he got a little bit of a pass for this last year’s recruiting because of the uncertainty.

Should be improved over last season, but probably not enough to get out of the bottom 1/4 of the conference.

Nope but he will get at least another season if not more no matter what.
