You retards are so quick to try to shite on LSU for some reason that it blinds you to actual facts.

I really don't get their agenda.

Like Skenes, I’ll give the pitching coaches the credit. Jay doesn’t work with pitchers.

So unless you're a position player recruited by Jay Johnson directly to LSU out of high school who is a first team all american as a freshman, you cannot be a star.
quote:

I clearly said post-LSU career was not part of this discussion. It’s the level you play at and production in college. LSU doesn’t earn extra victories when Skenes goes 1-1 or throws a 2-hitter in the Majors

Steven Milam outperformed Nick Madrigal as a freshman.
quote:

Stop me if I’m again repeating myself for you:
Dreiling is a star. Larsen is not. Maybe he will be. Are you putting him on that pedestal now? Because that was the liter question in thread subject line. Go ahead and say he is if that’s your position.
This is why comparing 19 year old freshman and 21 year old sophomores is stupid. Larson* will be a star by the time he leaves LSU, yes.

Let’s simmer on Milam until he can prove to get out of the bottom third of the order on an average hitting team
It's already been proven to you that Milam hit more at the top of the order than the bottom of the order. I don't know why you keep repeating this.
quote:

But he also hit on the heart of the order for 4 years and produced every year.
Why do you think this matters at all? if anything, Duplantis was protected by the top of the order while he was here. Milam had Milazzo, Brown, and a slumping Larson hitting behind him while he was "in the 7th hole." Do you think that because he was hitting in the 7 hole (for 11 games) teams just completely ignored their gameplan/his numbers and fed him fastballs over the heart of the plate?

You are genuinely a very, very stupid person.

So you’re saying Jay fielded an underwhelming team?

Yes of course, blame the audience, not the shitty material that 16 people agreed was shite.

You're saying projections in my preview aren't always correct? No shite I get things wrong all the time

Honest question, why everything baseball causes you to lose hope so quickly?

Milan was selected first team freshman all american by the same association that selected Bear Jones second team just last season.

Any rational person would maybe give a reason or 2 why they (wrongly) think LSU will not have a star player next year.
Put it out there hot shot.

The fact that this thread has made it to 10 pages is ridiculous

Hard to keep you Adams straight. You’re the preseason positional breakdown guy. They’re decent.

No he is saying that you’re one of the 4 or maybe all 4:
1. A massive CPM lover
2. A USL or some other school’s fan
3. An ignorant, back water swamp rat
4. A dumbass that is only here to trash a coach that is successful and has done nothing but frickING WIN.

So if you’re a fan of another school, bashing on here means zero dumbass.

My opinion is that star players show themselves as freshmen in many cases. You see the tools and flashes of production. I could hear an argument for Shores but post injury it’s a question mark. Milam could be a Nick Madrigal type.

he had as many HR this year as Madrigal had in 3 at Oregon State.

No. I'm saying that hitting between Senior Cole Freeman and First round pick Greg Deichmann results in you getting better pitches than hitting in front of two freshman and a defense first catcher who's hitting .280.

Also, here's a thread you started in May.

quote:

Milam needs to be 1-2 in the order

I could be fine with Bras leading off

But Milam is hitting to well to bury at the bottom. He could give you a LH bat to break up Bras/Tanks/Bear

Our offense is not good enough to put your hottest hitter that deep in the order

Another of your posts in that thread
quote:

here's a reason you put your best at the top

Tommy isn't Tommy when there's never any pressure on pitchers

Unrelated, but NotAStarGazer also has some doozies
quote:

Mark this down. Herring won't be at LSU next season. His ERA was near 4 last season but LSU staff was thin. This year, LSU has used 19 pitchers and I don't see Herring as being one of the better ones. His ERA now I believe is 10.5 after his poor showing tonight and the last game before this one.
quote:

We'll see...like I said. Herring will be in the transfer portal after this season as his appearances drop this season. As the announcers have said quoting Jay Johnson, this is a better overall pitching staff than last season.

Let’s not try to intimate that he’s better or that Milam is a bomb hitting machine..

That doesn’t mean he’s a star. That just means he was hot and belonged with the productive part of a batting order that had major holes in it — which you yourself admit
