A true measure of how much both QB’s are developing is to see them both get opportunities with LSU’s no1 offense. Going against LSU’s talented no1 defense this spring, both LSU’s QBs will need every advantage. Just my opinion, but I’d like to see a fair arrangement.

Holy crap. This again and I’m sure all thru spring ball?

The only “controversy” over QB1 at LSU is among fans.

There is none on the staff. Daniels is the starter. The starter today. The starter when spring ends. The starter game 1. The starter in the bowl game.

Post after post after post from the peanut gallery will not change this.

Damn.

Hopefully not too much.
But since you’re an idiot and just trying to stir shite up, the 2nd string always gets some reps with 1st team. Have you ever played football?
JD is undisputed QB1 and a Heisman candidate so just stfu

The best plays with the #1s. Period. Right now, that's JD.

Sports isn't about being fair. It's about winning and being the best.

Who do you think on this board knows that answer? Your question can only be answered by CBK, so I suggest you email him directly. Other than that, you will just have to wait and see.

Nah, the people who are paid millions of dollars to win games are just going to play favorites for the hell of it.

Nuss should not start over JD regardless of how he performs in spring game.

If Kelly wants to win big, Daniels needs all first team reps with all ones in practice and the spring game is really whatever. I am so tired of fans and some local media trying to push a "he can't develop or compete for starter if he doesn't get first team reps" narrative. Name me an elite team that had a returning starting QB sharing first team reps? You can't because there aren't any. We're trying to be elite not middle of the pack.

Myles Brennan got less playing time in 3 years than Nuss got in 2 years, was clearly #2 in all aspects in practice and game for years, but in Brennan's first 3 games in 2020 he threw for 1100 yards and 11 TDs. Sure the defense playing horrible had something to do with his super high stats in those games, but even if you cut off 100 yards and 1 TD for each game, he would still finish a typical 13 game LSU season with an estimated 3500 yards and 35 TDs. Both would have put him 3rd (yards) and 2nd (TDs) in LSU history at that time for single season at QB.

Said all that to say, if Nuss stays, does what he needs to do at backup (be prepared to go in at any time), and doesn't get ants in his pants, he has the talent to come out in 2024 as the unquestioned starter and put on a show. Are we then going to complain that Collins and Hurley aren't getting a fair shot at starter or developing?

He will get the usual amount of snaps with the first team that a backup typically does. Period.

If the coaches see a reason to adjust that, they will. That's what good coaching staffs do.

The expectation should be he gets minimal snaps with the first team.

Nah. It must be clear by now that Kelly has no interest in the team improving and winning as many games as possible.
He will not give anybody the opportunity to beat our any other player.

The TD drama Queen Police suck! No legit reason to anchor this thread, unless you drama queens on TD are scared stiff of something. Of What? Like a full fledged QB controversy, as if Kelly can’t handle having real competition at quarterback despite having one who started last season. What Nuss did to Ga was no fluke.
