WILL Joe Alleva Stick With His Declared HC/Coordinator Strategy?

So our overall strategy is we acknowledge that CEO has no "coordinator" level-abilities to lock down one side of the ball. We're depending on his persona and recruiting abilites.

So, he takes a reduced salary so that we can use the extra millions to lure proven coordinators to Baton Rouge. This seems to me to be a "constant pressure" strategy, because good coordinators want to be either NFL coordinators or big-time college head coaches. We will be under pressure to constantly find and replace coordinators. But hell, while I'm skeptical, maybe it will work.

But Alleva reminds me of a GM when I was in corporate management. Every two weeks in meetings, he'd declare: "Okay, HERE is how we're going to do it! Damnit, we're changing some things around here!" Most of his ideas were stupid, but that's beside the point. Two weeks later, those ideas were forgotten, never implemented strongly, and rinse and repeat. He lost all credibility.

Okay, let's say what we all hope for comes to pass--we win 11 games and maybe CEO gets us to the playoffs in the next couple seasons.

Does JA then declare: "Our strategy is working!" and there is no raise or just a slight raise for CEO to keep him under 4 million. Does CEO acknowledge the overall strategy?

OR ... as I think would likely happen, does JA come out with some gigantic new contract for CEO worth 6-7 million a year saying "He's proven himself a winner and he's one of us! We need to keep him at all costs!" And inevitably, Aranda and Canada leave for the NFL or to be head coaches. And because of the HC salary, we go back to Kevin Steele-level coordinator hires.

Alleva's declared stratagem to justify the Orgeron hire may work if it is consistently implemented long-term. I'm just skeptical that Alleva will stick with it, even if it works.

Do you realize that even Saban has to replace coordinators on a regular bases. Ir's called success. You know nothing about big time football.

How do people know that Orgeron and the assistant coaches aren't soaking up everything Aranda is teaching? We may already have our next defensive coordinator on staff. I'd love keeping that system after Aranda departs for greener pastures.

It's not a unique strategy, doesn't Clemson have the same type situation and it seems to work fairly well.

I've seen a lot of offensive and defensive geniuses promoted to HC and flame out. Not everyone is s Nick Saban or an Urban Meyer.

Since the guy left for SMU (name escapes), Dabo been heavily involved

C Strong became HC at Texas cause he was a great DC and he was fired cause of Defense. Miles was an OC not a very good one but an OC, more years than not our offense ranked among the worst in College Football. Of all Miles' faults in his coaching abilities he did prove to be a pretty good CEO. So the question should be how good of a CEO is Coach O ?

"Does JA declare " our strategy is working?"

I think 99.9% of the Tiger fan base would say the strategy is working!
You seem like someone who hopes things go bad so you can say "I told you so!" Because you didn't want Coach O as HC.

I remember the declaration like it was yesterday. Remember when he sent emails and did interviews for articles to announce it? I remember where I was when it happened and exactly what was said.

He said, that, oh crap, must be getting old, what did he say again and when was it?

Dude, you sound like your must be really cramping and bloated.

You also make it painfully obvious that you have zero knowledge of college football.

Please go take some Midol and refrain from posting for a few years.

You spend entirely way to much time thinking about the clown show that is Joe Alleva. The day LSU wakes up and fires his candy arse is the day LSU becomes relivent again in the big picture.

You mean the GA who ranked as the #2 recruiter in the country and was a huge part in getting K. chaisson last class?

You can lament this all you want but AD's and University Boards all across the country are sick and tired of paying some guy overvalued money to come in and raise the standard of performance in football team. Even if this model is moderately successful look for more to follow. There is just not that many HC's out there that are worth $5Mil plus anymore...
