Will Alleva and his lovers successfully demonize Will Wade?

Alleva’s intent is obvious; win the public relations battle and demonize Will Wade then parting ways will be much easier for Joe and the administration.

Do you believe he will win the PR battle?

If Joe is trying to win the PR battle among LSU supporters, he is failing miserably. Every time he opens his mouth he digs his burial plot deeper.

What?

Who do you think he's trying to win over?
The media?
Fans?
The board?

Two of the three he already has in his court.

He'll never get the fans unless he reinstates Wade and gives the NCAA the bird while simultaneously introducing Scott Woodward as his replacement.

You can’t deny that it’s much more difficult to fire a popular coach than an unpopular coach.

The fact that Lipsey went public with his demand Joe be fired tells me he already lost the PR battle.

Contrary to Joe's belief, most people can in fact think for themselves and don't need a braniac like Joe Alleva to tell us what's going on.

I personally DGAF if he did arrange payments for players. Neither does Joe.

They both know the game, and both know that if Wade didn't put a winning team on the court he'd be fired like Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones (who had some pretty good recruiting classes in his own right, just wasn't a good coach).

That's the irony. If he doesn't pay for players he gets fired. Joe is a hypocrite and I think most people realize that.

Every AD cares if their coaches violate NCAA rules. This board sinks deeper and deeper in the Bizzaro World.

Joe’s hypocrisy doesn’t bother me. Everyone is hypocritical every now and then.

What bothers me is his disloyalty to LSU to cover his arse.

Even when Jerry Tarkanian was under NCAA violations his athletic department fought for him and the university. I wish LSU had fighters.

No, like Joe, they only care if they get caught - which Wade may or may not have been caught doing.

I dont love Alleva

the same way people that hate Coach Orgeron could still think he had a good game plan against Georgia.

Well, they care if their coaches get caught violating the rules. And they care about keeping the NCAA guessing.

LSU's compliance department has a long history of bending over backwards to cheerfully assist the NCAA. We self report and self penalize out the wazoo.

Vigilant compliance used to be a point of pride. Now y'all want to be Auburn.

I think it’s pretty obvious that it is. Getting the NCAA involved with the internal investigation is to show institutional control. Also, If he wanted Wade gone, he’d be gone already. Do you think a 9-21 coach would be retained after the wiretap leaked? Of course they wouldn’t. LSU wants Wade, but they have to get past this incident.

I agree that Wade would probably be out on his arse right now if that wiretap news broke towards the end of a losing/mediocre season.

I was honestly surprised they suspended Wade at all given what a hot streak the team was on but LSU has always bent over backwards re: compliance matters.
