Or maybe coach o has a guy or 2 he wants on the staff and needed to free up some spots. He's the HC now so needs to be able to get his own guys in, not hang on to Miles holdovers.

It'll add up when Saban hires Craig in the next day or two

He was likely (read guaranteed) encouraged to find another job and failed to do so. Word is O thinks he is a lazy recruiter.

If this happens and it turns out Smith knew, that's enough to get blackballed from coaching.

This is a solid post. The reason is probably much more mundane than anyone wants to admit and all the knee jerk reactions and conjecture do no one any good.
He was obviously close to some of the players and probably could recruit because he's young, sorta flashy, and successful but players don't need their "boys," as coaches, they need a consistent message throughout the team.

It seemed that Steven Guidry not having the grades to sign was a surprise. There was no smoke about it at all. Maybe Craig knew it but didn't let on?

Did you think our receivers flourished under Craig?
Did you see him helping Brandon Harris as advertised?
His recruiting slacked too during the coaching search.

That doesn't exist anymore with coaches like Saban out there.

If they didn't learn this in 4th grade, there's not much chance they are going to understand your post.

There is a reason that Auburn wasn't too beat up about it when Craig left. A lot of fans were unhappy with his ability to develop the receivers there. May be telling for this situation as well.

You need a QB for WRs to flourish. After Miles was fired and O took over, you started to see more production from our WRs. I really don't think WRs not flourishing under Craig played a factor.
The fact is, Craig was fired, if they wanted everyone to know why it would have been reported. Is Craig not replaceable or something? Anything that he might have done or not done happened already, he is gone.. Lets move forward.

This seems like a plausible explanation.

How many times did you see a recruit post a picture of Craig or Juluke at home visit (last few weeks) ? Or a recruit tweeting out about these two? We lost good quality players in our backyard. I see Coach O is about business

Well,
1) He did leave his home school, Most leave to go home not vice versa. Very strange, if he's worth a shite
2) Who did he bring to the table this week?
3) Name another unit (WR) on the team that preformed worse this past year.
4) More than likely Canada wasn't a Craig fan.

Up till signing day, the #1 JC WR was in the barn & all of a sudden academically ineligible. Coach either had no clue or did not reveal the situation. Either way, had to go.
GOOD CALL. the news of losing Guidry hit early on the morning of NATIONAL SIGNING DAY and had to be the last straw. how does that not come to light BEFORE NSD???

Seems it WAS a surprise. If so, one of two things likely happened. Either Craig knew and remained silent or, he didn't know but certainly should have.
