I would be surprised if he’s not worth at least 250 million

because he was so jolly as head coach, right

let the man go, this obsession with trying to convince each other that he might be open for a return stint is unhealthy

I think Saban retired when he did for a few reasons. First being his age,

And he’s two years younger now.

The OP makes good points IF he did want to come back to coaching. We all know this is a pipe dream….but, if deep down he did secretly want to coach competitively again this would clearly be the best option that could come up for him if he did. The only person who truly knows what he wants to do is Saban at this point, I don’t feel like he truly shut it down yesterday. Not that $ matters…but The amount of money he could potentially make in three years, would’ve taken about 8 to 10 years of coaching back in the day. It would be dumb for us not to make the offer and dumb for him not to at least listen. All they can do is tell us no. Which is most likely what will happen. That said, it does seem odd to me to think the rest of Sabans career is supposed to be spent next to that arse hat McAfee. Even that shite rubs me the wrong way, so I imagine it does him too. Let’s hope!

You make some good points. I don’t know how old you are, but as you get older, your perspective changes. I’m sure he misses being around the game and coaching players, but he’s made enough cheese and doesn’t have to deal with all the bullshite that comes with being a college coach these days. Plus, spending time with grandkids really changes your outlook on life. Don't think he's worried about anything but whats for dinner.

Good, let him. Just not here. When he gets frustrated and leaves, AGAIN, you’ll understand why.

I swear after Saban dies we'll still have fans trying to convince themselves he's still coming back.

Hey, all you dumb fricks.

I’m not the dumb arse wishcasting on a public forum about a man in his 70’s becoming coach for a second time at a program that’s in shambles.

How old are you? Would YOU take this on? Seriously.

I wouldn’t.

Look for Saban as AD. Not football coach.

Well this is the TRant. You will get no civil discourse here! Rational thoughts are as rare as a bleach blond stripper with a triple digit IQ! This place is filled with hyper emotional fricktards that just want to argue and nitpick everything!
It’s truly is bizarre!

Saban said he doesn't want to coach again. He also said he wasn't going to be the coach of the Miami dolphins and he wasn't going to be the coach at Alabama.

What a Debbie Downer perspective. The LSU program isn't "in shambles". Far from it. The team has talent and money, and has been competitive over the last four years. It was in shambles after the Archer years (poor recruiting), the Hallman years (poor coaching), and the Dinardo years (poor coaching). LSU isn't anywhere near that same place. LSU just needs the right coach to get us back over the hump to being a championship contender.
