Woodward told them Kelly was a can't miss hire worth a 10-year contract that was almost entirely guaranteed. They trusted his judgment. They got burned.

No doubt about it. Who approved that contract and the hire?

As the AD, it was primarily his responsibility. Yes, the BOS approved it, but they were relying on the AD's judgment about the hire. I'm not saying Woodward is a bad person or that he wasn't doing his best. It is what it is. When you consider that he paid O a lot of money after 2019, it's not a good look.

Who the frick would take this job right now?

The sort of people you need, those who don't shy away from temporary instability.

This is what New Orleans says every time they try to elect a new mayor and can't understand why the candidates are all clown shows

So you think the candidates for AD and head football coach at LSU will be as inept as the candidates for N.O. mayor?

If our governor and his disciples have anything to do with it, absolutely.

Honestly, if competent ADs or head coaches think there's a sliver of a chance that they'll have to put up with Louisiana politicians meddling where they shouldn't be, they'll look for jobs where they don't have to put up with that shite and only have to answer to their direct superior, which is just about everywhere else.

Why? You have a governor who is playing political games with the athletic department. The vast majority of the BOS are Landry's appointees. You think the BOS is going against Landry? I'd be surprised if anyone worth a shite would want to step into this mess.

So the boosters have no say? I guarantee you many "worth a shite" will want to step in. You're emotional and in a sky is falling mindset. Take a midol and do some pilates. You'll get over it.

That's funny. My point was pretty rational, you just don't have an adult reply so you resort to the low hanging fruit. Good job.

Not really. It was emotional and in the moment. You said nobody worth a shite will consider these jobs. You agreed that the candidates would resemble those of a N.O. mayoral race. Those are not rational answers. They are absurd.

The boosters aren't idiots. They can see it's a shite show just like everyone else in the country. And good luck trying to get wealthy, business-minded people to donate as much, if at all, to an obvious shite show.

Landry might've spoken into existence the idea that taxpayers will have to pay some portion of facilities or coaching salaries without even realizing it.

That isn't what I said. This is what I said.

Key word : Surprised Maybe someone amazing will get the job. I certainly hope so. But given the politics involved and the optics of how it went down, I'd bet on it being a circus. That's why I think it'll resemble a N.O. mayoral race.

And it’s not your job so why are you?
