One of the potential ‘causes’ is how CBK dealt with Greg Brooks. Idk if it rises to the level of ‘cause’, but that is something for lawyers to work out.

Gov wasn't involved and they didn't try to fire him for cause to get out of paying him.

Because Jimbo didn't play golf for 40 hours a week, wasn't a raging alcoholic, and didn't cheat on his wife

LSU clearly has cause that will result in a lower buyout.

The ones footing the bill aren't broke. Athletics isn't broke. A&M just has even deeper pockets. Writing that check is just a hard one lol.

Why is this so much messier than when A&M fired Jimbo
1. aTm honored the contract
2. Texas governor didn’t insert himself into the process among it worse for everyone involved

They can’t comprehend that concept.

The way I read it is LSU knew in Kelly’s first year that they made a mistake. This is why we heard how long does Kelly has by his second year. LSU knew this was going to end poorly. I expect the cause case was being accumulated during his second year.

Because Kelly's contract calls for payments to be made over the remaining life of the contract not a lump sum and jimbos contract did not include mitigation language. This isnt really all that messy, its two parties posturing before setting up a final negotiation. A&m did not have any ability to posture based on jimbos contract so they had to eat the buyout
Shhh you don’t want all these chicken littles to stop melting!

A&M didn't frick around on the money. They wanted his arse gone. In fact, the Athletic Department was presented with a huge check (literally) on the field at halftime of Jimbo's last game before he was fired.

The Texas governor didn’t step in and become the face of A&M for a week.
I don’t think I’ll vote for any gubernatorial candidate that graduated from a LA college not named LSU.
This retard and previously Blanco have soured my view so horribly on ULL grads in positions of state power I’m not sure I’ll ever get over it.

Because LSU fans turn everything into a catastrophe.
Ask Saban.

Because, Woodworth and Kelly were political hires.
