4-1 SEC team with a highly strength of schedule and not a lot of other really good teams around outside of the usual suspects at the top

ESPN has it out for LSU. Just baiting the fan base and can’t wait for them to lose a couple and then have an excuse to bash the program. Typical ESPN.

god I hope this is sarcasm.

FPI is a mathematical formula, by the way. Hard to claim bias, when that formula is applied to all other college teams too.

This is an easy one... ESPN loves the look of our QB.

To finish the year 10-2 would be an amazing

I remember NOT so long ago 10-2 wasn't good enough for LSU Fans.

It’s all relative. In 2-3 years, 10-2 will be frowned upon again by LSU fans.

O left this team in shambles. We were hardly able to field a team in last years bowl game.

10 -2 would be out the box incredible and BK should be a nominee for Coach of the Year

Your walking the line with that one

I know what you’re thinking, but that term has been on the site for at least 10+ years.

The scary thing is we are 4-1 and have shown that we have a lot to improve upon and haven’t come close to playing our best against our power 5 opponents. But what we lack in execution we make up for in heart and determination. Once the lights come on for these players we will be a consistent winner again.

Exactly. In the 3 tougher games, they got tougher as the games went on; they never quit.

That must be what the ESPN metric measures

i do not really get it either, SP+ is also high on LSU. Vegas seems to be tailing SP+ as well which explains the line being so low.

My only explanation is that they still are factoring in pre-season projections and recruiting rankings. Bill Connelly use to explain it a lot more when he was at SBnation but he hasn't been as active at ESPN.

pretty much all the models are higher on LSU than i think any LSU fan is

If BK gets us to 10-2 this year, that will be incredible.

Unfortunately, our expectations going forward after that would be championship or bust. We can be a bit delusional.
