steven godfrey said on his podcast he talked to dome officials about this. they want to avoid fatigue if one of those teams make the sugar bowl, cfp, or national title game. they want fans to come to nola as a destination and spend money, and they are afraid they won't if the same teams are making repeat trips.

No one seems to want to admit that the dome is well past it's prime. They want state of the art venues for big games now

That must be why the Dome still gets playoff and championship games.

Need a sponsor and availability. Availability part now is settled, just need planning (Mitch, SD officials) and $$$$.

Think hotels already run about 80% capacity Labor Day weekend. Mostly decadence.

Labor Day in Nola is Decadance Festival and peak hurricane season

Not exactly conducive for a major football game

But Houston is fine?

ULL has a contract with the dome that says it can't be used for any other college game but the college super bowl, aka the New Orleans Bowl, in mid December.

Didn't say the dome was done. I said it's just past it's prime. Do you really think you're getting another super bowl anytime soon?

I don't know where you heard that from or who told you, but its complete BS. ULL has zero influence on the Superdome. They want to get a neutral site game going down here and have been in talks with LSU and other programs about scheduling one in the next few years

We just had one, so no. Was that supposed to be some big win for your argument?

And why are you moving the goalposts to NFL things now?

This reply seems way too serious, but I'm still gonna take it as a joke anyway
