The real question is why do LSU fans hate TEXAS. as a texas fan that lives in baton rouge for 10 years. I cheer for the tigers all the time unless they are playing UT. I cant understand it but IMO is that LSU fans are generally haters of anyone that is not LSU.

People from Louisiana have a big penis envy towards the state of Texas, therefore LSU fans have a big time little brother mentality towards UT (b/c it is the most recognized state school). You can easily point out someone from Louisiana in Texas b/c of this.
interesting
I wasn't born or raised in Louisiana - came here as an adult and have moved away and back again since. So I don't have the same perspective based on the ways I see Texans and native Louisianians talk/interact
But I don't see the little brother thing - I do see arrogant Texans who think they are better than other people. But if someone rolls their eyes at Texas fan when they spout off about Texas - that's not jealousy, that's more of just a knee jerk "they're full of it" reaction
IMO people in Louisiana are pretty proud of being Louisianians - they/we can be small minded but they don't want to be other states I don't think. And if LSU wanted to have the success of another football program - it would be Miami over the last 30 years or USC/Alabama over the last 40-50... LSU has a better baseball program and arguably a better modern day football program than Texas

I don't "hate" anyone.
But ever since I went to the Cotton Bowl a few years back and Texas beat us, I have not liked them.

Why do they? Dunno, maybe 'cause it's more fun than hating the Aggies.

I once saw a shirt that read: "I got my Auburn shirt because I went to Auburn. You got your bammer shirt because you went to Walmart"
Same applies to Texas, they have more band wagon fans that have never stepped foot on campus...
I live in Austin and love it but their bandwagon fans SUCK!

Because we keep messing with Texas. Check the history from 1960 to present.

What is it with this "hate" shite? This word, imo, should be reserved for things like red wasp's, cottonmouths and herpes.

I actually pull for UT when we aren't playing them

I live in a house divided: Wife went to UT & I went to LSU. I have never viewed or heard animosity between UT & LSU fans within or outside my house. I find many UT fans cheering LSU on when LSU isn't playing UT. The rivalry is between UT & TX A & M, not LSU.

Don't hate UT but it probably has something to do with the perennial primma donna status the national media gives their f'ball program.

Move to Texas and you will understand why.

For example this thread about Chad Jones on shaggybevo.com really portrays the Texas disdain for all that is LSU.

Nothing but class and respect for Chad Jones on the UT message board. I can only hope LSU fans would show as much class.

Ex LSU Football Coaches...
Mack Brown
In 1982, he moved to LSU as the Quarterbacks Coach.
Carl Reese
In 2009, he accepted the defensive cooordinator position at Miami of Ohio, under new head coach Michael Haywood. Reese and Haywood worked together previously at LSU in the 1990's.
While at Texas, Reese inherited a defense that ranked 104th nationally in rushing (241.5 ypg) and 85th nationally in total defense (399.2 ypg) in 1997 and turned it into a unit that produced five straight top 25 total defense finishes. Texas' NCAA-leading 236.2 yards per game allowed in 2001 was the Horns' lowest since 1983 (212.0 ypg). UT ranked sixth nationally in total defense in 1999 (286.7 ypg), seventh in 2000 (278.3 ypg) and 16th in 2002 (307.7 ypg).[

Didn't read the whole thread so I'm not sure if these points were made...
I think that there was some bad blood that started after Ryan Perrilloux screwed Texas and went to LSU. Obviously, this wound up being a blessing in disguise for them.
They also hated Les Miles because he was able to beat Bob Stoops and Oklahoma back when Mack was catching all kinds of hell for getting owned by them annually. Therefore, there was some carryover of that when he came to LSU.
Most recently is was beating them in the CWS.
There's not a ton of history between the two schools but there has been some recent history. I woudln't call it hate but there are stronger opinions now then there had been before.
