some of the talent on his team. It took him all season to see that Chad the "Dreadlocks of Doom" could pitch. The same with Buzzy Haydel. Now that Arby Fields is really playing well, why did it take numerous injuries for him to even see the field?

I'm not saying that this is the case in this particular situation, but some guys are shitty in practice but are gamers. It takes a while for a coach to trust a guy like that.

Just an example as food for thought.

i am totally convinced there are elements within this fanbase that are not happy unless they have something to bitch about.

even when LSU is playing great people like you find things to complain about

btw baseball is an interesting sport it is possible that Chad Jones and Arby Fields took a while to get going so if he had put him out early in the season he would have been a negative spot in the lineup east out batter. Baseball isn't like Football in the fact that if you have talent its almost always on. In football even on his off days Drew Brees plays better then all but 5 QBs in in the NFL. But in baseball if Justin Verlander or albert pujols have an off day or off week or off moth they play about average compared to the rest of the MLB. It is even possible for bench guys to turn hot and be the best player on the baseball team for a couple of months then hit a slump and get bumped to the minors. It just isn't that way in the NFL

That probably had to do with Chad going to Spring practice for 5 weeks, then liking his outfield the way it was with Mitchell, Mahtook, and Schimpf. Did you know he only threw 2 bullpens before pitching in the AU game??

I think beginning the season as a starting outfielder and then missing several weeks at Spring football had something to do with it.

He had some chances and didn't do much with it early in the season. I wish he had been given a little more leash, but we were struggling a little at the time and couldn't really afford to wait.

that some posters should be banned? I would think 28 posts is a big enough sample.

this thread is a perfect example of why I believe you should have to have a certain # of posts to be able to start threads
