Outside of the SEC nobody really cares about college baseball.

Because outside of a few random regions, literally no one cares. It's very hard for LSU fans to accept because it's such a big sport...but it's extremely true

It’s where I fear college football is eventually headed

Tell me how college football is more significant as a rooting interest? How does one impact your life more than the other.

The American dollar, my boy.

I like to say this. At lsu, basketball makes more money for the university during a bad season than does baseball.

The media could create interest by covering it.

The reality is - they have tried multiple times in the past - it just does not generate enough interest or ratings....college baseball interest just like MLB is regional and in college baseball the number of regions the GAF or even fewer. The last pre-Covid attendance numbers show only 18 teams averaged over 3K per game in attendance and that's paid not actual. So if there's that little interest even regionally in a regional sport - why invest time and add space.

Chicken or the egg. Does demand for coverage create supply or does supply of coverage create demand? I learned that in Econ55 in 1968.
