It was Les Miles that was skull dragged by BAMA on 01/09/2012 in the NC game.

That was ten years before CBK was hired.

1) He botched his staff from the start.
2) He re-botched it apparently with Sloan and Davis.
3) He's development lite and portal heavy. As much as anything I'm amazed at just how poor our fundamentals are.

Here's one example. Note the situation. Down by 7 w/ 4:40 on the clock and 2TOs so plenty of time. 3 on 2 at the top of the screen. Out 2 TEs just have to block 2 DBs (s/b total mismatch) and we'll get a nice gain. If JJ can make someone miss we'll get a very nice gain. Good play call. Good throw. And poof. Just like that we turned it into a 3 yd loss.

I don’t think he likes it here. He’s not comfortable and when you aren’t comfortable, you have to work a lot harder to succeed. I’m not sure at this point in his life he wants to work even harder.

He’s an arrogant person and he looked down on the SEC to an extent and now he’s being humbled and doesn’t like it.

You see this in other industries and other walks of life. For him it’s just playing out on the big stage but at least he’s getting paid a ton for it.

It’s a different era, even as a fan, it’s hard not to notice and hate it. One of the reasons I use to love college football was watching how guys would develop and grow within the team for 3-4 years.

The days of getting a full team of juniors and seniors to run it back like the 19 team is over. Every year is going to be a full rebuild with the roster movement and payments. Is BK up for it? Idk, program building isn’t a thing anymore.

He would have been DiNardo Part 2 but he played a bunch of bad teams that inflated his record. Nothing but an average/above average SEC coach. Today he is a below average/average SEC coach.

Reminds me of Dinardo. Ok coach but terrible assistants and that cost Dinardo his job

Because he's elevated himself to CEO status and he's out of touch with the day to day.

and he's stubborn and really just not that good.

I think he is just riding out his contract before going off to really enjoy the rest of his life. I hate these 10 year contracts - especially when they guarantee millionaire status untethered to current performance = what's to work for?

Perhaps there should be some quality standards in those contracts, and if you fail, you either get fired or salary reductions.

Because when youre the CEO you have to have good people under you. He has Baker who is great. And you have Sloan who is terrible. Its harder for a defense to hold a team to less points than it is for an offense to score points. So you cant depend on the defense to hold teams under 20 points every game. The offense needs to score 35 points on occasion where the defense isn't hitting on all cylinders.

He really needed to embrace the culture here and he didn’t do so.

It would’ve helped him in the long run. Now he looks like a whiner head coach with the same empty platitudes.

He should come to an agreement with Scotty and walk. This experiment is done.

1. He is and always will be the definition of a 9-3 coach.
2. Slow to identify problems and make needed changes - with his coaching
staff, his starters and his schemes.
3. inability to adapt to changes in college football and the mind set of young
athletes. BK changed jobs right at the advent of the NIL era and he is
to old school to adapt to this. Motivating a bunch of 18-19 yr. olds who
are suddenly millionaires takes a certain mindset, which BK does not
have.

Agreed. He has $50 million reasons come December to not care. Next year $40 million. He’s never going to win a championship and he’s going to ride off with generational wealth. Not a bad consolation prize. He’s checked out.
He may get a chance to clean house on the offense but anyone that is worth anything is not going to leave where they are to coach under a lame duck arrogant arse.

He doesn’t put the time in. He’s lazy and doesn’t care. He just wants to collect his check.

He's afraid to shake things up a bit
Why on earth have we not seen MVB?
Why has there been no carries for KJackson
etc.

He took the job thinking the innate nature of lsu football would gift him a Natty. His reasoning was:

If coaches like Miles and Ed can get a natty at lsu, surely I will to.

I truly think he expected the program itself would give him a natty, not the other way around

This is the correct answer.

He knows he will make bank, win or lose. Why make an effort? And knows he can get the big lottery payout if they bite the bullet and pay his sorry arse. He's smart, just not a smart coach. He also has no honor.

Bingo. The guy is checked out. He has been since setting foot in BR.
He gets paid a king’s ransom to cruise control this ship.
