Why do you care so much ?

I am an LSU alumnus. I was a former LSU athlete for a short time, and I root for the tigers in all sports. Having said that, I do not let the outcomes of a collegiate football team stress me out to the point that I nearly stroke out. Why don't you all just relax and take it for what it's worth?

after all this time you just now decide to make an account?
why bother?

That's because you sucked balls at whatever sport you played at LSU and had to quit after a short time.
You probably played Quiddich.

This is the kind of attitude that promotes mediocrity.

The new pumper handles are flying off the shelf from the LSU ponderosa today. Good gosh. I lost count on the number of these similar type of handles since Wednesday.

I care because I was a student for Dinardo's last 2 years and Saban's 1st 2 years. I saw us at our lowest and during the climb to our highest. I remember thinking that LSU was a fun football school but realistically was not a national power. My expectation for a great season was a Sugar bowl appearance. Winning the national title wasn't even a reality for me. Then we did it and we showed the world that LSU could do anything anyone else could and we were actually set up to do it. We began to demand more from coaches and facilities and everyone responded. We became a national power.
Fast forward to this year...the fans are demanding more but the admin has decided that mediocrity is fine. We are demanding less and everyone but the fans are responding. I don't want to see it die because honestly that's my school. My alma mater and this is my state. I'm tired of people thinking of Louisiana as inferior. I'm tired of people thinking of LSU as just a party school. I demand success in everything LSU. I agree with F. King's letter and vision for our school but if we are a part of something we should always demand to be the best at it and if we're not we should fix it. That should include football because that's what's best for the students, athletes, fans and our state.

Why do you care whether I care? TBH - I ask myself that all the time.

I’m single with no kids, no real hobbies, and gave up drinking. Why can’t I be invested in sports?
I’m also an alum and TAF member so I like to think I can be reasonably upset when things are going badly.

1. Been going to the games since I was 3 or 4 years old
2. Went to said games with my father and LSU football is a big part of how we relate to each other
3. I learned to swim on that campus, I learned how to drive on that campus. I went to LSU summer camp. LSU was a big part of my childhood even outside of going to the games.
4. Undergrad degree and law degree from LSU. Most of the profound experiences I had in my college and post grad years happened on or adjacent to that campus
5. Huge part of the culture of Baton Rouge generally, the city I grew up in.
6. Lots of great memories with friends and family going to games and tailgating even since graduating from there
So yeah with all that being said I prefer the program not be a national embarrassment. If you don't understand that then frick you.

That's exactly what I don't understand. It's like "well I been around since we were dog shite and now I don't wanna go back to that blah blah" well did it never occur to you that it might not always be national championships every year? There's peaks and valleys bro. Just calm down and we'll get back to where we all want to be.

Where in there did I say anything about winning the NC every year?

A lot of people on here should just be thankful for the opportunity to watch any LSU sporting events.

I've been to 5 countries and 35 states and have lived in multiple other places besides south LA. Not the most well traveled person out there by a long shot but frick off with this shite.
