So far O has done very well. Not sure any other head coach would have done any better. He has hired well so far too. What would another head coach have done diffetently?

quote:Again, I don't remember it actually happening.... Just because it was said doesn't mean it was done....
this was reported early in the coaching search
quote:Yes, because those are 100% more reliable...
but an actual news outlet
quote:Show me....
it happened
quote:Again, I am here often and I do not remember it being discussed....
it was discussed on this board many times.

les miles had lost that team and the coaches all hated cam Cameron and they were about to lose the coachesWell this is just pure speculation.....
you are correct. but it wasn't hard to read between the lines when reading quotes from both coaches (not O) and players. but it is just opinion based on heresay.
quote:
but I think Orgeron would have won the rest of the gamesWell again speculation.... I could say Les would have went 6-2 the rest of the year as well
this time I stated it was my opinion. but I DO NOT think miles would have gone 6-2 the rest of the way. the team played much, much, much better after he was canned. it was night and day. I think (speculation) that miles had mailed it in.

you're being a dick. I read lots of stuff, not what I want to read.

could be true; I've thought about that. but, he had no way of knowing he would still be employed if miles was canned.
and LSU hired a coaching search firm and it was widely reported. do you own research.

Football - 4 coaches out of 32 were from Louisiana.
Basketball - 8 of 33 were from Louisiana.
Not to sound brash, but this kinda makes your post moot.

Who else besides Stovall and Coach O?
they were the only two I could think of.

successful coaches do not want their flirting with another job to become known to their present employer.
Yes. We hired O because he's a coonass. It never would have happened otherwise.

If what you say is true-- then makes sense the "contact" would be through 3rd parties and not open-- kinda like GranDad posted.

You got several downvotes from a lot of the little kids on here, which tells me in itself you made a good post. Anything these little punks disagree with is very likely good for Lsu sports.
Posted on 1/8/17 at 5:36 am to beauxroux
You are correct, just another punk kid that thinks he knows it all. I wish they would go bandwagon another team. I don't want them celebrating with us when we are winning.
Posted on 1/8/17 at 6:13 am to AlaTiger
You are a idiot two head coaches in all of LSUs modern history but keep the spinning going.
Posted on 1/8/17 at 8:29 am to tduecen
is ryan theriot even on lsu staff? he not working anywhere at lsu
Posted on 1/8/17 at 8:34 am to AlaTiger
Your argument that we keep doing it is pretty easy to disprove, and that's coming from someone who hates the Ogeron hire.
Posted on 1/8/17 at 8:52 am to TigerinDunbarton
So, "if you get downvotes, you're doing right." That's how it works? So the guy who got destroyed for posting that Guice ran the wrong way against Florida on purpose in an effort to make sure O didn't get the job was really the only smart guy in the room?
The post you're taking up for is getting downvotes because it's one of those tired, elitist, lecture filled "shame on you" posts that only further divide fans. I'm all for everyone coming together and supporting the team and the coach, but calling people "crybabies" and "little punks" is the worst way to get people to respond. We don't need "fan police."

LSU has 20 head coaches? You named 2 jobs that have gone to Louisiana natives.
He named two pretty high-profile jobs that went to two guys with thin resumes in their experiences at the corresponding positions they held at other schools before coming to LSU.
Personally, I don't care where the coaches lived, grew up, etc. In the case of Jones, his main selling point was he was from here and tight with Dale Brown and Collis Temple. And his performance at LSU hasn't exceeded the low expectations that came with him.
In Orgeron's case, he's had a good start here. But LSU still lost its two most important regular-season games under his watch, and the Ole Miss record horse has been beaten to death. Let's not throw him a parade yet. And it's pretty sad that Alleva just threw up his hands, took his ball and went home when Tom Herman and Jimbo Fisher raised the stakes in the poker game.
There were no other head coaches out there, either? You fired the sitting head coach two months earlier to hire a guy down the hall? That's why people were/are pissed off.

I'm gonna tell you what I think, because you told me what you think. I think that there is a time for debate regarding who's going to be coaching on the sidelines, and then there's a time to rally behind that decision. The time for debate has passed. Now it's time to support the head coach for LSU. Not doing that and continuing with the debate only serves to hurt recruiting, and the confidence of recruits interested in LSU, because if the fans aren't behind the coach, then maybe they shouldn't be either. Get it?
Give the man a chance. Someone gives you chances, probably when you dont deserve them too. Just give the man a chance to prove himself. Everybody deserves that opportunity at least.

I can get behind that. And bring Ogea in as pitching coach or "consultant".
