This all started, fans leaving early, at least 7-8 yrs ago. For today's students, this is all they know. And their attention span is self evident: take away their phones & they would be lost.

As with an earlier post in this thread, I point out to you that LSU frickING WON THE GAME.

This is the root of all of the problems right here. People can complain about parking, music over the loudspeaker, traffic, tailgating restrictions, the over-corporate nature of the games, concessions, bathrooms, etc etc etc, but when the attitude of many of the fans is that "the product on the field is shitty" in a game that LSU WON, then none of the rest of it matters. There is nothing LSU can do to keep these "fans" at the game.

This isn't about supporting the team or school anymore. It is about a spoiled fanbase that wants to see a team perform at video-game like efficiency every single play of every single game, which is of course impossible. It used to be "LSU isn't winning, so we aren't going to the games/staying til the end". That was back in the 90's. Now, it is "Well, LSU is winning, but not in a manner which is acceptable to us, so we aren't going to the games/staying til the end"

If you don't like how we win, or that we don't win enough, then go Roll Tide.

I would say they need to drop the number of student section tickets but lets be real, those seats probably go mostly unused otherwise.

THIS is why every incoming freshman/new student should have to take & pass LSU History. What a GREAT class this would be to learn about the founding & progression of the University as well as to learn of all the terrific sports stories. Could be a terrific way for top alums to come back to speak & "give back".

so you are proposing that we charge students ~$3,400 to take LSU History? As if students don't already have enough bullshite classes they are forced to take. Will there be a chapter on the significant decline of the program since 2012? Or how F. King Alexander is ruining the university? IF so, I might be more inclined to support that awful idea.

Unless the taxpayers of Louisiana are footing that bill, no way in hell.

People with current season tickets might upgrade to these seats, so they would be used....but their old seats might not be.

Selling beer at games would keep a lot of people in their seats a lot longer. Eventually someone in charge will realize that simple fact.

Not students, the majority of which are under the age of 21. This thread is about students leaving early.

I think this is true to an extent. If they are (and they probably will) charging $10 a beer, I don't think it will make that much of difference.

Saturday nights during the Fall, I was in bed with my girlfriend. I had the AM radio on the dormitory desk to check the score. Of course, this was during the late '80's. Every time, the Tigers won, it was just gravy.

Many students are 21 though, plus grad schools have tickets

I was at LSU during the Dinardo years. The game was usually over by halftime
