This is obviously all speculation

but I would be will to bet there is something behind the scenes that we don't know about that kept him from playing. What it could be is too numerous to speculate but I would bet a ton that I am right.

Racey was on special teams kick covereage

And on offense late in the game.

Jefferson has been above Stevens on the depth chart all fall

The scrimmage a couple weeks ago would suggest otherwise, but I have no way of knowing for sure one way or the other. Do you?

There are legitimate, footall reasons why Jefferson played over Stevens

I agree. If Stevens plays before Jefferson and McMath this week should I assume all of those reasons reversed course or disappeared this week?

I thought Stevens was playing that speed sweep type position. Can't remember what Canada calls it. He got carries in all the scrims he played O in. I think Stevens will play more when the game plan calls for more spread formations.

What about Nick Brossette? Did he play at all?

I didn't notice that, but I'll take your word for it. I definitely saw him on special teams and when the number of plays listed was three I assumed they were all special teams

No. Just going off of what I thought I remembered hearing and seeing the depth chart before the game confirmed that to me .

Obviously! Just kidding. Well, it would be one possibility, though.

So if Stevens doesn't play again, do we assume his suspension was for multiple games?

Here you go:
Ed Orgeron wants to get freshman WR JaCoby Stevens 'more in the mix' against Chattanooga

Suspension must have only been one game.

quote:

One freshman who didn't see the field for LSU against BYU on Saturday night was five-star signee JaCoby Stevens.

LSU coach Ed Orgeron moved Stevens from safety to wide receiver at the beginning of camp but Stevens didn't see any time against the Cougars. That won't be the case this week as the Tigers gear up to face Chattanooga.

"We've talked about it today, we want to get JaCoby Stevens more in the mix," Orgeron said on the SEC Coaches' teleconference Wednesday morning. "He's got things he can do on offense. I think you'll see more of him this week."

He must have learned the playbook, became less overrated, and more reliable in the last three days. Way to go Jacoby

I'd like to see him returning kicks. I think he has the hands and the athletic ability to make a positive difference.

Give him time. One of the best athletes on the team moved over to WR to get him on the field early. He will be fine, I wouldn't worry that he didnt play in a 27-0 ballgame.
