I muse have missed this. The one everyone is talking about was his presser shortly after being named interim coach.

That may have been it. I'm not sure of the time frame. LSU football seasons come and go like the wind.

But I think it was more recent than that. I believe he had been on the job a few weeks.

Repost from another thread:

2012 Johnny Manziel 2013 Nick Marshall, Trevor Knight 2014 Bo Wallace, Cardale Jones 2015 Chad Kelly (Additionally, 2014 Marshall, 2013 Manziel, and 2015 DeShaun Watson all scored 40+ but lost) So... What types of QB's should LSU be recruiting?

Idk what the "master plan" is. I do know that we decided to make a change from the Miles program, which in recent years has not produced. Coach O, I'm certain, has a plan for the future. Is whatever it is guaranteed to work? No. But all I know is change certainly is coming, which is something I wanted and willing to see through. We simply can't keep doing the same shite and expect it to work when everyone, including Saban, is adapting to the game.

There is no master plan. He is trying to do whatever is most popular. Just another sign that he is in way over his head.

He's providing "Direction" in the QB recruiting. Funny thing is the rabble in the fan base don't grasp that while that direction is North, it's also heading straight for the ditch.

Great start to his tenure.

That's where his presentation on flexibility falls I guess

So what is "most popular" was to lose Brennan as a commit? Obviously he isn't just doing what is "most popular."

Yeah going after the best QB in the country means he's just saying whatever is most popular.

I believe you should recruit the best players possible and tailor your gameplans and schemes to their strengths.

Hell, even if he did decide to go totally spread--his privilege--why publicize it when you have a stud qb like Myles Brennan committed from the beginning?

Save the spread stuff for TT's living room. Hell, coaches tell stud recruits what they want to hear all the time.

And they all had better coaches coaching them then Coach O. A dual threat is not going to fix all your problems when you have a gym teacher as your head coach and he is going to rely on coordinators to do all his coaching for him

Because like everything else O does, he is just trying to copy other teams/coaches since he hasn't had an original idea/thought in his head that has actually been successful.

He looks at the teams that have beaten Bama and decides that since they generally lose to dual threats, then that is what LSU needs to do.

O is going to be a disaster for this very reason. LSU will continue to have no identity because their head coach doesn't dictate one on either side of the ball. It reminds me of what happened to UF and Texas these past few years with OCs. It will be a disaster, but people will say "He's one of us and loves LSU!"

Brennan's decommitment is a clear sign of two people coming to LSU: Lane Kiffin and Cam Akers. Just my opinion...

Good post. I honestly never thought of it that way.

"No identity" or constantly changing identity is a potentially huge problem when you have a coach that has never been a coordinator, is incapable of locking down one side of the ball, and is merely a figurehead "motivator."

List a group of HCs or OCs or DCs that came up with original, new ideas and schemes?

He stated very clearly in his Wednesday night show a few weeks ago that they were focused on recruiting pro-style quarterbacks in the future.
