Just curious, know he is a Catholic High guy and looks like his family give a lot to LSU. Sure there were good reasons.

IDK about him specifically but some of those kids have the attitude that they're too good for LSU. Same with U High.

LSU finished the previous season 10-2 and ranked #12.

Did LSU offer him? We signed Rohan Davey and Craig Nall that year.

He grew up an Alabama fan I believe. There were better QBs than him as well.

You know how he got his first name, right? He was named after Major Ogilvie, a former running back for Alabama. He was never going to LSU.

As someone who knows the family personally, this is such bullshite and I notice it's the excuse that gets spread around here a lot when a Louisiana kid doesn't go to LSU (even if they don't go to Bama either)

It was typically mentioned by the announcers during his games, so if it was wrong they were wrong too.

Major is a pretty unusual name.

How could he get offered at UT if that were the case. Mack used to own their state and could have found much better QBs in Texas. Genuine question

He redshirted in 1997 and was already there when Mack hired in 98. Mack brought in Sims in 1999

Recruited from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by then Texas coach John Mackovic, he was later coached by Mack Brown.

Major was following in the footsteps of Richard Walton, James Brown, and Shea Morenz.
