“ What I was going to say earlier before Yovan homered is that in any sport when there’s a tight game with lots of pressure situation I always take the southern teams over the west coast teams. They just raise their kids to be tougher in the south compared to the west coast where kids are often coddled. I know that’s a weird theory most find dumb but I believe that’s one of the reason the south dominates sports.

You can just see tonight LSU has been composed while Oregon (outside of Yovan) has been rattled all game”

Reminds me of when chip Kelly after the 2011 game said the athletes are different down here.

I was thinking early in the game that no doubt most of our kids have played in pressure situations a lot in their lives. They definitely have played more ball in their lives then kids up north so have seen more situations.

He’s not wrong, but I think it’s because they tried to pick a guy off who hasn’t stolen a base like 100x in one inning and low and behold one went wrong. Dumb dumb move on their part.

I don’t necessarily disagree. But I don’t think the gap is as big as this Oregon fan thinks. Maybe it has more to do with the Oregon just not finding the dudes it takes. Take Stanford, or Cal Sate Fullerton, those programs have historically been able to pull off the ugly wins against the southern powerhouses because they can find those west coast kids with some grit.

Lol. He meant that there’s more black people down south.

I think the sentiment has validity. But the reasoning is off.

I don’t think it’s how they were raised, I think it’s competition that the guys down here grew up playing against. High school athletics down here are very competitive, with big crowds and high enthusiasm. But certainly when they get to college, the teams down south hit the postseason more battle tested that other areas of the country. The pressure to win is high down here, and especially for LSU baseball. I’m quite certain LSU felt no more pressure when facing elimination this last weekend than they felt for most of the season when the talk around town was how this team better start winning games or they won’t even make the SECT, much less the NCAAT. Those LSU players face the highest of expectations from the first pitch of the season on. They spend an entire year learning how to handle that pressure.

I think it has more to do with LSU having more battle scars throughout the season. The sos prepared LSU for last night

Historically. But not so much as of late. They got some real pussies on the west coast these days.

i mean, the Oregon team bounced back every time we took the lead. Not sure why they would think that. Those guys didn't quit and played their hearts out. Nothing he said is true for last night's game.
