It was talked about last Sunday and will be talked about every time an NFL kicker misses a kick.

There’s a lot of kickers. Not the strongest leg but I’ve seen a lot of bad kickers today so maybe he’ll get a shot

There are only 32 of those jobs in the world and probably half of them are no better than a couple dozen of other people who do the same thing and are not in the league. But, when you have things like contracts and the trust of coaching staffs alot of the time its easier to go with the guy you know rather than a possible slight improvement from someone you don't know and definitely don't trust.

Not a strong enough leg. If enough guys struggle he may get another look

He can keep training and get stronger. His long in college is longer than Lutz's long in college.

There are guys with legs stronger than Tracy that can't get a job in the NFL. Leg strength is a minimum prerequisite these days and he doesn't have it.

Echo this!
The number of qualified personnel far exceeds the quantity of available positions. Additionally, the oldest players in the NFL, consistently, are kickers. Place kickers & punters play well into their mid 40s.

A few years ago, my next door neighbor got invited to nfl training camps for years as a punter/kicker. I would watch the preseason games he punted in (nfl network), and most years he OUTPERFORMED the incumbent(s). When he was cut at the end of each camp, the hc would usually tell him we really like your performance, but we have to go with our experienced kicker. About 5 yrs back, he got to kick for the 49ers last two games, pocketed about 110 grand, and used it as a down payment on a nice house. It' just a very hard road to get into, when you are on the fringe. He was probably the 35th best punter in the world, but not quite good enough.

He doesn't have enough range. He's money from inside of 45 yards, but he doesn't have the ability to consistently hit kicks from 45-55+ yards out.
