Maybeeee Scott and WW already have a plan in place.

Fire WW to avoid sanctions and protect football program.
WW takes his two year show-cause.
LSU hires a cheap mediocre coach.
NIL in place
Sanctions/Show-Cause Pass
WW back in the P&G

lol

Thanks for taking the time to once again try to educate the ignorant Wade bashers on this board. My personal belief is that Dicky V and the rest went after Wade to keep the spotlight away from other coaches who were their personal friends. Wade did nothing that the biggest name coaches in the country hadn't been doing for many years.

If Scott planned all that shite out, I take back everything negative I’ve ever said about him.

Haha, right?

This place would blow up if McMahon was fired at the end of the year and WW was brought back.

I wholeheartedly believe this. Dickie V had a lot of corrupt coaching friends. Throwing Wade under the bus completely masked others doing. Notice the articles and rants were regurgitated and rereleased at very strategic times as well.

Unless Wade made a Final 4 I was unaware of, the highest level of success in the last years years was Brady in 2006.

LSU on the other hand panicked and fired WW.

I think it was more along the lines of not biting the hand that feeds you. LSU Football was about to be shook with the John Paul Funes Our Lady of the Lake Vadal Alexander deal. Like bad. Either the NCAA told LSU "you fire Wade and we make this light" or LSU offered to fire Wade. One of the two happened, and it was due to the NCAA about to drop the hammer for Lack of Institutional Control.

Can't win 5 SEC games this year. Happy?

Bruce Pearl seems to be doing pretty well. Whats really going to suck is when WW goes to another SEC school.

Wade will likely go down as the last college coach ever fired in response to pay-for-play allegations.

And now you know the rest of the story....

The hypocrisy and double standard was shameful, it really was.

Why can't you losers think of any other coach other than Wade?

Look, we will probably never be a basketball powerhouse like we have been/can be in football and baseball and I think most fans are ok with that. They just want someone that puts an entertaining team on the court and make the tournament on a yearly basis.

Will Wade did this. Would he have ever won a tourney here? Who knows and honestly who cares. What we did know is he made basketball fun to watch and we knew we would at least make the tournament. If every once in awhile we made a run at Sweet 16 the that was just a cherry on top.

Will himself said the level he attained at LSU was pretty much topped out UNLESS brass does more to further that.

For whatever reason they don't want to do that. Even MM is limited in what he can achieve to that end.

That was his pre-NIL mindset, and statements like that were said in an effort to try to get the admin to meet his demands. For much of Wade's tenure he was privately and very publicly pushing the LSU administration for facility and support upgrades.

Then the college sports world changed.

In an interview the summer after he was fired he was asked directly that if there were only enough funds for facility upgrades or NIL where would he want those funds allocated? He unequivocally said NIL because that was the only way to get top players. To quote him, if the (donor) money was used for facility upgrades instead of NIL then you would have a team of "MMMF (mid-major mother fu--ers") getting their brains beat in every night in a really nice gym."

The arms race in college sports used to be facilities. Not any more. Its NIL and that money comes from donors/boosters. The donors/boosters like Wade. If you are of the opinion that the reason Wade had success at LSU is because he was paying big money for big recruits then guess what, that money wasn't all coming out of his pocket (if at all). It was coming from the same donors that are still around today. That's good news because that money is critical for roster building.

How far could he take LSU today? Who knows? But if you've been a fan of LSU basketball for the last 30+ years you have developed a pretty good sense of what losing basketball and apathy looks like, and right now you are seeing all of those hallmark signs.

Ah yes. 2-16 records in SEC play are much better than losing
In the sweet 16. A sweet 16 that he couldn't even coach in

He reiterated that notion in a McNeese interview.
