well 26 sacks and the inability to run between the tackles...yea thats the OC

I believe it is. Can't blame the QB on the lack of blocking. Maybe too many sacks, but that can also be attributed to not calling the right routes. Think back a few years. Dwayne Bowe, Early Doucet. Quick crossing route over the middle. ??? Many many yards....

Ummmm...big name highschool QBs. Ryan Perriloux, Jordan Jefferson, Chris Garret, Russell Sheppard, Rueben Randle(I know this is a stretch but he was a big name and did play QB in high school). I think J Lee was actually a pretty big recruit coming out of highschool as well.

Not even on the same level as Hodson and Jones. The others were close.

the question was why don't we ever SIGN a big name qb, and jamarcus and perrilloux absolutely were big time qb recruits

NO!..QB holding the ball to long and the lack of the line to hold the blocks and the QB not being able to work through his route progressions fast enough!..period...

Look at the similarities between the bolded and non bolded. I was making a joke directed at the OP.

OK. Maybe I worded my question incorrectly. Was JJ the best that we had to choose from as far as QB's coming out of high school at the time that we recruited him? How many of you that have responded to this post think that JJ is the man for the future, (next two years) or would you rather have somebody else.

Jefferson has shown enough this year to be the starter until he graduates IMO. Definatley has things he needs to work on but should be one of the best qbs in the sec next year behind mallett.

Although I do agree with you, LSUfan4444, you don't have much room to talk. I mean just look at your avatar.

he was #6, but the guys above him were kyle wright, chris leak, tommy grady (who?), clayton richard (who?), and kevin mccabe (who?). which one of those guys do you think had a better college career than JR?

You're correct that Hodson and Jones never won NC's, but both had very productive NFL careers

Hodson had a productive NFL career?
