not like Jimbo Fisher had anything to do with the development of Jamarcus Russell

Well according to about 50% of the people on this board, Russell was a terrible QB.

I just love how when things go badly, it's all Miles' fault. But when things go well its because of one of the assistant coaches or the talent level of the players.

Miles and Co hasn't developed a QB since they have been at lsu. Its pretty obvious. If you don't think so, take off your purple n Gold blinders.

Why would a top guy come here to waste away in this o where you make one mistake and the play gets torn from the play book to never try again.

I mean mett threw one interception last game on a slant route so this game les miles refuses to even try one slant route all game. (The easiest route for receivers to get open on) Les coaches very scared or conservative and ulm and la tech don't. If you make a mistake at other schools you are expected to go back out and make up for it next time around. Les miles does not do this.

Everybody was trashing Johnny Football but I have 2 questions. What would Mett do against LSU's defense? What would Mett do in another offense like Texas A&M's?

Maybe a lot of it has to do with how we develop the defense so well. I heard petrino had like 12 receivers on scholarship. Hence his defensive problem. We have good players on O but better players on D. I'm okay with it but agree its hard as hell to not get upset watching our offense.

At the end of the day I really don't care as long as we win. Anything can happen in college football. Keep winning and ignore the crying.

We threw 29 times yesterday. The wind was a big factor in the incompletions. With a defense like we have, believe me they will come. It's a rantard myth that we can't get a good Qb to come here. Mett will improve also I have no doubt. You Rantards need to get that thought out of your mine. Like Saban sad. This fan base has the catastraphe syndrome.

Maybe we can't recruit a stud qb is because we don't have recievers that any prospect thinks can catch a routine pass.....maybe stud qb's realize that we have lineman that could get them killed. Just maybe.....oh heck what's the use.

Calm down guys and accept the fact that with a Brady or Manning, our offense would be the same. While other teams are sending 5 receivers out and spreading the field, we send two. We do not run any pick plays like Bama and Florida. Florida ran a pick play at the goal line yesterday and got the completion for a touchdown. All of our pass plays are a specific call to a specific receiver. Our quarterback does not even have to go through progressions because there are so few targets out on pass routes. If the designated WR is covered, throw it away. Also, the reason our third down conversions are so bad is because of the aforementioned and the fact that we run it two plays for 2-3 yards and then on third down we pass when everyone know we have to pass. It is Michigan football from the 70’s when the Big 10 was the Big 2 and they could run over everyone in the conference. The SEC West is the Big 2 also and Miles knows it. And it is working for him.

It is starting to show how bad it hurt us losing out on Justin Hunter, the juco transfer Patterson and Rueben Randle. I wish we could have got mett a tall WR to throw to... Our offense will need to perfect a gameplan in order to beat bama.

I think Mett' Season is completely different with Rueben Still on the team. We have no legit deep threat for a guy who likes to throw bombs.

I'm not sure we have a coach who can recognize one. I would love to have Johnny Football slinging it for us. Hell, I would even take the Baylor QB. I think both were 3 stars.

My issue- the offense has been "dumbed down" & simplified, yet, Mett has not improved. He looked better against N Tx. That's not competition related. I'm talking about pocket prescense, drops, set up, delivery, touch, reads, telegraphing, deep balls. I just don't think he has it.

Freakin ULM and Tech have gunslingers and we have a bronze statue. I'm happy everytime we win, however it is painful to watch our QB play. Anyone have a good explanation?

Imagine that you are a top notch QB being recruited by all the top programs in the country... after watching LSU's offense for the last few years would you come here?

There is NO reason why LSU cannot have both a top defense and also a top offense - no reason other than *CLM doesn't seem to want both. Somebody said somewhere that he's more afraid of losing. So he dumbs down the offense... and frankly, this year it's showing.
