Yep. Every game is important....unless you're Bama. Then only the games you win count.

es, but there we no teams that were undefeated in regulation AND OT that particular year. When the team you lost to in OT has a better record, that argument kind of goes out the window.

I wasn't arguing Bama's case. I was answering the question, what is a good loss.

Why the hell are posters using 07 as a comparison to this year? LSU WON THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP. I seem to remember UGA being left out of the discussion because they basically did the same thing Bama did this year. It disgust me that ESPN gets up there and says on any given Sat any team can win, but in the same breath say they know Bama would beat OSU.

The first matchup is completely irrelevant.

You mean the one that put the winner of it's control of it's destiny in the SEC West and propelled said winner to the SECCG?

The SEC Championship is not irrelevant. Nor is the AP Championship. I don't think that it's totally out of the question that if LSU loses, the AP voters decide to reek some havoc and vote the team with the Conference Championship, VASTLY surperior resume as their National Champions. In all honesty, there is very little difference between the AP Championship and BCS Championship. The AP votes one team their natonal Champions, the BCS votes two teams who play and then award them their national championship.

The AP, has awarded their national championships several times to a team that lost their Bowl Game, they just did so before said Bowl Games took place. If you want to discount those, well, then, Alabama wouldn't be able to claim quiet so many championships.

All of that being said, I do believe that LSU is going to blow Alabama out of the fricking water on the ninth, and I am emphatically looking forward to hearing Robert Smith et al crawfish and say that Alabama really didn't deserve that #2 spot and LSU got an pass playing a team "We all knew they could beat because they beat them already...and on the road, no less!"

100% will not happen. LSU loses, the AP will not vote them no.1. Maybe get a few votes from the radicals but nothing more.

13-1 and 12-1. It's not the same. We won't lose though

Because we're anticipating LSU fans crying about Bama being awarded the NC after winning the NC game.

I don't care for split titles. There is one title that matters, BCS Champion. This prevents us from having the same issue Bama has always had, there are more national champions in NCAA History than there are years in college football history if you follow Alabama's past.

Only losers accept the split title. That is a fact right there. Take 2003 for example, LSU fans (the majority) don't credit USC for their AP Title, because we won the BCS

No way, no how, will LSU win the AP title if they lose to Bama. AP has been around for over six decades and has never voted a team no.1 after losing their last game, never.

you are right, because it hasn't happened it can't happen. I forgot. Because no way a 2 loss team makes it to the title game after losing it's last regular season game. No way No how.... oh wait.

Don't see the problem here. The winner of the Championship game deserves it...unless you wanna be like those whiney USC fans circa 2003. If so...be my guest. I guess the extra whining around here shouldn't surprise me anymore.

The BCS is only a few years old. It's safe to say that most years something will happen that has not happened before.
