yep, the 2007 Patriots were the better team, but the New York Football Giants still get the shiny trophy.

ETA: We can still point out that no one can have a better record or say they played LSU and didn't lose

Exactly, regardless of the outcome LSU beat every team they played.

it is all just talk though, LSU wins.

saying it doesn't get them a trophy.

Agreed. That was the best part, the Gump said if they get the crystal ball they're the champs, period. But when I said yes, and we're the SEC champs 'cause we've got that trophy, he suggested "other people" (yeah right) might suggest they're the real SEC champs, too. Typical Gump logic - here's the way it is - unless Bama is involved, then there's a whole new set of variables to assure Bama's always on top.

Are you kidding?
AP poll much more unbiased than coaches poll, did you see how Saban voted?

This is such a stupid statement. Did you ever stop to think that maybe he thought Stanford was a better team than Okie State. Stanford loses to Oregon (you know the one LSU fans rest their worlds greatest schedule on) and Okie State loses to Iowa State. ( you know the 6-6 team)

I think the real reason is because they hear media saying LSU has already done enough this season to be considered the best team regardless of Jan 9 game.

The first matchup is completely irrelevant.

No way, no how, will LSU win the AP title if they lose to Bama. AP has been around for over six decades and has never voted a team no.1 after losing their last game, never.

It was.

What is the problem with this observation?

So, LSU took all of Bama's previous NC's including all of the fake ones on November 5th and they are trying to get them back on January 9th?

I never ceases to amaze me that people complete disregard wins in favor of quality of loss.

Want to know why are more likely Stanford is ranked ahead of OSU on some ballots? Because they lost earlier. That's always been the case.

BamaFan21,

I actually agree with some of your response. I have no problem with Saban voting Stanford #3. He certainly wasn't the only coach to do so. In response to your obvious dissing of our schedule, the NCAA ranks the schedules based on W-L and our schedule was deemed to be the most difficult schedule for 2011. It doesn't really matter what LSU fans or any other fan thinks about that. We beat everyone that was put in front us.

For the record I agree. The BCS is total crap.

yes, but there we no teams that were undefeated in regulation AND OT that particular year. When the team you lost to in OT has a better record, that argument kind of goes out the window.
