Y'all don't want Tulane, so La Tech fulfils the LA school option.
What I don't understand is why we have to play McNeese, ever. They're FCS and we've struggled against them when we've played (even the 2015 game that was cancelled didn't look very promising the few plays that were on the field).

Besides sounding like a puss for stating that… ask yourself where the money for buyouts for previous coaches , money for new coaches, and NIL money comes from. A game against McNeese is a small price to pay in return

The real question is why did we ever play Southern and why would we ever play them again?! The last time was a disaster for the fans in the stands and after the game. Fighting their own fans in the stands and the parking lot. Blocking traffic by just standing in the road like they owned it, etc,,,

34-7 and 32-10 is struggling?
In 2015 we ran like two plays before it was stopped due to lightning.

We will bring more people to the game than any school in Louisiana other than Southern(We will find out about Tulane in 2030). It will be a sellout. Plus in the last 15 years we have played LSU closer than anyone else in the state. Lost of course & definitely not the better team, but still showed up to play. We are easily the finest university institution other than LSU & Tulane in the state in all aspects of education & athletics.
And I say that as someone who is not happy at all with the direction of our athletic program. Mid majors are about to be a separate division within a decade.

Delusional tech fan represented by icon. Hated everything about SunBelt conference. Talked down the conference for 8yrs, thinking they were gonna be invited to a bigger better deal. It never happened only team that was not selected for another conference out of the scrap leagues they were in. Then they get down on their knees and bend over and beg embarrassingly to get into SunBelt. It’s such a delusional fanbase that always thinks that they’re are special and above other teams of their ilk. Moral Victory University. If they win a quarter, more 1st downs in 3rd quarter, or more rushing yards in 4th quarter these will be talking points of their victory at LSU regardless of a 48-10 loss.

Southern is FCS just like McNeese. Sure McNeese is southland so much better FCS program but honestly LSU should only be playing FBS teams at the minimum.
If I had it my way we’d only play P4 teams and SEC teams. Zero cupcakes. Maybe bad P4 teams but no cupcakes.
Like give me Clemson, Rutgers and Arizona as my 3 OOC games. Or something like that
