ULM has been on life support for far too long from LSU and every other SEC program. They don’t seem to care enough about athletics to deserve the pay day.

I was just being politically corrrct. If it was up to me I wouldn’t plsy SW either.

If we are going to play the La. schools we need to do away with the FCS Schools. Play ULL, Tech, and ULM only.

Would you really rather them play Troy again?

Oh absolutely please yes.

That would honestly be a little spicier than any other sun belt OOC game. Kiffin would definitely run up the score to be petty especially with O back on the staff.

Season before last they had one of the best defenses in the country. They've been a good team. If they had any offense they might've been in Tulane's position. I think they have a good team this year too. We need teams that can test us not creampuffs.

Rice is one we have a long history with from way back in the day. I don’t hate playing them every 4 or so seasons. Just for the nostalgia.

I love playing teams that we have a long history with.

It actually pisses me off thinking how good some of these LA schools have been since our last NC and LSU can't seem to find their footing anywhere. Sure, we have much more complex and tougher things to look at like schedule but it's annoying to see schools like Tulane have more success than us recently. I'm so glad and thankful the BK era is over. He was such a lazy trainwreck.

6-7, 5-7, 8-5, 4-8 was Floridas record in that same time span

5-7, 5-7, 6-7, 5-7 was auburns record in that same time span.

What do you mean LSU was a train wreck? Do you know what an actual train wreck is?

By LSU standards the past few decades, yes it was. Especially if you consider LSU has unique advantages that set any coach up for success, especially with resources available. It's a top 5 job in the country. If you can't succeed here, you're a straight up loser which is exactly what BK was. Think Les and Orgeron had more success than this guy. LSU has completely struggled post NC NIL era despite the massive money it pours yearly into the sport.

LSU’s win total average since 2000 is 9.5

Do you think we are Alabama or Ohio State? Kelly was doing what LSU on average does. Eventually he would have had a team break through just like O and Les.

What’s the mystery here?

Ohio State

Yes we are on their level. Ohio State didn't have to navigate an extremely difficult schedule when SEC dominated for two decades yet look at the NCs between both and LSU destroyed them head-to-head for one. We're on their level the past 2 decades at least. Bama? I'd say no but who else can claim that success?

No, BK would not win anything here which is why LSU got rid of him. He was lazy, LSU knew it, the boosters knew it, etc. He had a heisman QB in JD and they couldn't even sniff the playoffs with a historic offense that year due to how badly he bumbled the defensive management while at LSU. You don't pay a $60 million buyout if you think the HC will eventually come around to do something. They were not convinced he was the guy and that was reinforced by how he approached everything around the program. He was lazy. It's well known.

He's the polar opposite to how Kiffin is apparently approaching everything. Kiffin reportedly will be in football OPs to 4am in the morning because he's thirsty unlike BK.

La Tech is a cut above McNeese, Southeastern, Nichols, Southern, Northwestern, Louisiana L & M.

Sarcasm. Graduated from ASU as well later in life. Was looking forward to the game in Tempe.

Here's the way I look at it.

With a 9 game SEC schedule there is ZERO reason to schedule a big time OOC opponent. Playing 9 SEC games, and having 2 loses, will almost always get you in the playoffs. Why raise the chances of a third loss by playing a Clemson?

Let's just say Texas finishes with 2 SEC loses, and has a third to OSU. Will they get left out over a 2 loss Bama, who played nobody OOC (i didn't look at Bama's OOC...just using as a hypothetical).

So for me, we can play 3 of Mcneese, ULL, La Tech, Northwestern, Tulane, Southeastern, ULM every year for all I care. Even better if its a Louisiana school because:

1- we might be able to get them to come for less than a team from far away
2- keeps the money in state
3- on the rare case they have a player worthy of LSU (see Lacy), you get them in for an unofficial official visit to LSU when they get destroyed by us. And cement their dream of playing on the LSU sideline when they enter the portal.

What is the negative here?

It’s not LSU’s responsibility to fund other teams. In or out of Louisiana.

Make your own money. We aren’t a charity.
