re: Why are so many of you so adamantly opposed to A&M on Thanksgiving?

Pretty good points by the Aggie above.
Although I understand some of the bitching I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Most fans do not travel to a particular away game every other year (unless they have family/friends etc. in that town or state or they are loaded). More likely, most fans take a road trip or two a year and rotate where they go. Therefore, I think most fans (me included) could get their family to sign off on 1 Thanksgiving day absence every 4 or 6 years for a trip to College Station.
My entire extended family gets together on Thanksgiving and I have not been able to make it multiple years because of attending grad school in other states. Not ideal but it wasn't the end of the world, I see them at Christmas! Have also had many family members attend NFL games on T-giving on random years and it was cool. In fact, when many in a family love football, going to a game is really not much different than being at home. Just don't get the nap!

Rantards gonna 'tard.
There really is no end to what LSU fans will bitch about. It's embarrassing.

I really don't care one way or another. I see both sides.
Playing on Thanksgiving is great exposure.
Playing on Thanksgiving makes people that are attending the game choose between traditional Thanksgiving with family and the game.
My advice is for people that want to attend the game to move their "traditional" family Thanksgiving to Friday on the years we play at A&M.

Family should be more important than football, period. People should not have to move spending time with their families to another day because of an aggy tradition.

One of the most accessible venues for LSU fans to attend an away game and they want to put it on Thanksgiving... Yeah frick A&M, frick the SEC, and frick the LSU admins who agreed to this.
The people who can attend the thanksgiving game can just as easily attend a Sat. game but frick the people who have family and obligations for Thanksgiving.
Man there are some narrow minded selfish assholes in this thread and just to make it complete... frick you too!!!

I freakin love it, but I can understand why some of the older posters with families wouldn't like it.

If people want to go see LSU play what will most likely be one of their biggest games of the year, they should not have to move spending time with their families to another day because of an aggy tradition.
I'm pretty sure you knew what I meant.

At least the fans in Houston are happy right?

It's a big deal to people who have families that also like to travel to the away games. There's no reason to be rude and make fun of people who would like to keep our games on the weekends and off of major holidays so we can support our team.

No doubt.
It would be better stated that people are forced to make a choice when there ought not be a choice necessary. There's no reason other than appeasement of A&M's tradition that is causing LSU's fans to make a choice between enjoying the holiday in their traditional manner, and making a road trip to College Station.
I've still yet to hear anyone explain how it is that CBS is seemingly cool with losing this bigtime SEC game on Friday every other year when it's played in College Station. They don't want to sell ads anymore?

This thread--like most on the Rant--is embarrassing. Our fans are so fricking stupid.

The songs that are piped in before the game starts? I.e. Callin' Baton Rouge.

It's bs that the sec caved for a&m when our administration was supposedly adamant about no thanksgiving. We have made the conference millions for the past decade and have gotten shite out at every turn.

LSU's tradition is to play Tulane, but LSU doesn't want to do that
What the frick does LSU ending a terrible one sided series that saw Tulane win about four games in the last fifty years have to do with not wanting to see LSU schedule a football game on what is already one of the most busy days of the year for most people?
