Top 20 recruiting classes come in and at least help this day and time. If they can't play in front of some these guys we are in trouble!

Nobody’s gonna look like they should in an antiquated mid major style system.

...that and the coach's main concern was stabilizing the program with veteran players. That resulted in the focus going to the veteran players. But now he should pivot to the young players the rest of the season, IMO, to build a stronger program down the road.

There are like 150 4 stars in basketball, which is way too much for college basketball. Not the same as a 4 star in football.

In basketball, there are maybe 15-20 players who can be a major impact in year 1. Our guys are just your typical college players who need a year or so to develop.

Final note: While Ward and Reed were ranked 34 and 72, players ranked near them were already signed with other programs. There might be a reason they were still available.

Possibly because they are practicing against guys who appear to lack basketball skills that would make you better if you had to practice against them. The team looked good against Arkansas and UK on the road, but Arkansas is turning out to be crappy and we did still lose to UK (though it was a nice effort).

LSU's guys have no clue what they are going to do with the ball when they drive in the lane and make terrible passes to no one or they take awful shots that don't even come close to going in. I'm seriously wondering what they are doing at practice to look as bad as they have looked the last three games. And they have no clue how to secure a rebound.

You’re right. I’m brand new to college basketball and didn’t know that all freshman are good. Now I know.

Point well taken. My golf game is much better when I’m playing with or against better players.

It’s an antiquated style of basketball. Some fans don’t understand that the 30 second clock combined with the college rules for defenses demands a more NBA style offense. There are maybe one or two coaches who can still play this way but they recruit to it and have done it for a long long time. McMahon isn’t trying to play the way Virginia plays, that’s not what we’re doing. What we’re doing is simply low level mid major basketball and it will not work at LSU.
