Why are LSU players being isolated as being pros?

Why is it that only our players are being pointed out as being pros when other teams have guys that can play because of these rulings?
Did they go into the draft?
That was their only option at the time. The NCAA said they were done.

The two main issues here, I see, are 1) NCAA fricked this up from go by arbitrarily determining 5 for 5 doesn’t apply to 2022 kids, and 2) SEC is trying to be the strong arm of the NCAA but it cannot explain its “rules” and it’s definitely not applying those poorly explained rules consistently across its member institutions.

ESPN breaking in and delivering the news as “LSU players eligible” and that “LSU won their case” shows they are manipulating this story

I understand this. What I don’t understand is why there is blatantly selective coverage by the media. The only players and university that is ever named is LSU.
It seems to me the bigger story would be the SEC’s bias treatment toward one university.

Two specific players had the misfortune of being just good enough to be on a preseason roster. Neither played a single preseason snap, either because the coach decided they had better options or because they were injured.
Kinda arbitrary.

As stated, I think the obviously bigger story is a power 5 conference being flagrantly biased toward one of its founding members.

The bigger story to everyone else is the intentionally exaggerated “LSU is getting NFL players on its roster” angle, so they are adding as much fuel to the fire as possible.

SEC decided to draw a line in the sand at players attending training camp / signing contracts (even if they arent guaranteed, and paid next to nothing). The line is arbitrary but its where they decided to draw it and are going to die on it.

I expect a really lazy segment of all of each teams alumni in the nfl matched up against each other.
They will shite on the whole deal but all agree that the LSU team would win thus keeping the crowd in check.

Fair point, but again, the SEC has already allowed players to compete at other universities that previously signed professional contracts.
LSU is being isolated because LSU is better at wielding the tools the conference created.
