re: So LSU loses 2 NFL players and Ole Miss keeps Chambliss
Posted by Dingusaurus on 9/9/26 at 1:25 pm to Henry Jones Jr
I am sure Lane and the team will feel very…very motivated to play Ole Miss with Chambliss in Oxford. I think they’re gonna be ready to lay the wood. They feel wronged, singled out, and LA Tech won’t be the outlet.

What’s crazy about society on the internet is that this question was answered in the post correctly and without a bunch of stuff to confuse the issue, and people still just argue. God bless America.
re: So LSU decided not to play the pro NFL players and SEC is still suing? Explain, please!!!

They will vote to expel or not. The lawsuit is there in case it does become a legal battle, the venue is set. In an Alabama courtroom…

For his comments in press conferences and half time. The mish wants him to stfu and fall in line.
If he gets anything it’ll be one game vs LA Tech or whatever.

I can’t I’m not familiar with the SEC rules around it. Just stating what I’ve heard.

Tbh what I’m hearing more and more is this is about the SEC believing the governor of LA is running the LSU athletic department via proxy. I’m not behind closed doors…so no clue about the truth to it.

Far from over they’re waiting on the Federal Court ruling most likely.
re: If Dae’quan Wright gets added to the roster eventually, does Green move to outside WR?
Posted by Dingusaurus on 9/6/26 at 12:03 pm to IvoryBillMatt
I think they’re hedging their bets until the Federal case is resolved. If they win that I believe both players will be added pretty much immediately.
If Dae’quan Wright gets added to the roster eventually, does Green move to outside WR?
Posted by Dingusaurus on 9/6/26 at 11:49 am
Seems like the one piece missing last night was that tall perimeter threat that can go down and win 1:1 jump balls down the sideline. Do you think if Wright does eventually join the team that Green ends up shifting out to the perimeter to provide that threat more consistently and we end up running a hybrid 2 TE system with Green lining up primarily outside?
re: Why can’t the NCAA just say, “these are the rules. If you don’t like it, then don’t play”
Posted by Dingusaurus on 9/4/26 at 8:58 am to King of New Orleans
Because the NCAA acted so extremely selfishly for decades that by the time the lawsuits started, it was so corrupt and bereft of any defense it’s basically lost every lawsuit it’s been a party to. They can’t tell the United States legal system F you, we make our own rules even if the Supreme Court says we can’t enforce them. Frankly all their attempts since have left so many loopholes that now the teams and conferences are trying to figure out what’s kosher and what’s not.
re: Why are LSU players being isolated as being pros?
Posted by Dingusaurus on 9/4/26 at 7:51 am to jp4lsu
SEC decided to draw a line in the sand at players attending training camp / signing contracts (even if they arent guaranteed, and paid next to nothing). The line is arbitrary but its where they decided to draw it and are going to die on it.
re: Ryan Downton says LSU will be in “contempt of court” if they don’t roster the players
Posted by Dingusaurus on 9/3/26 at 10:20 pm to Huskertiger2
They wouldn’t roster them to ensure they’re covered in case the Federal case doesn’t go their way on Tuesday. Harris can’t even play, so is it worth the risk just for a back up TE? Likely not, so the prudent play might be to let Tuesdays decision be made and then roster them or not based on that decision. It’s a half season suspension for Lane at stake and tens of millions of dollars in potential fines.

They didn’t. The players did.
re: LSU protected.
Posted by Dingusaurus on 9/3/26 at 8:57 pm to ColoradoAg
LSU, aside from probably Texas has the strongest brand of all the other SEC teams. It’s right there with Bama, UGA and frankly those four are the current strongest brands in the SEC. The conference isn’t gonna give that up over a lawsuit filed by players, not even by LSU.

re: I can’t believe we couldn’t close Landon Clark on the spot!

They have agents. The agents tell them not to commit on the spot and then negotiate. It’s like buying a car, you don’t just buy it on the spot you leave assess, review your options and negotiate. Stop being emotional about a business decision.

Might be. Ya gonna man up behind the team and cheer for and support them or hope they lose to prove a point. Hope they got more chest than some these fans on here and aren’t out there thinking they’re about to lose out.

I watch all the games. We have a shite oline, a QB afraid to step into throws and a OC that is out of his league.
We struggle against extremely dynamic and motion based offenses on the road like Ole Miss and Vandy.
On the road Perk looks absolutely lost. At home though, with the noise they tend to perform better. I think we can beat everyone left on the schedule. I think we have a strong chance against all of them except Bama.
We are not natty contenders, but we are a bubble playoff contender.

It’s not an excuse. It’s a statement indicating that there’s no real basis to think they’re going to lose out. They have a legit shot of winning out with the Bama game being the only real longshot.
