Ensminger is the OC, he’ll call the plays but Brady will set next to him in the press box and have some input. As Orgeron said “Joe Brady will have the next play ready and if Steve wants to go with it then he can” I expect Brady will eventually take over as OC in the near future, if somebody else doesn’t poach him away first.

Ensminger. Why is this even a question? He's the OC.

You’re wrong. Brady is going to call the offense.

Technically Brady.

E will give a yes or no on the play call.

I don’t know if it was just a slip up or a Freudian slip but on Cody Worsham’s Podcast “Hey Fightin Podcast” Stephen Sullivan said “I trust coach Brady calling the plays.”

Take from that what you will.

Edit: fixed the podcast name

According to O, Brady will have a play ready for E and it’s up to him to play it or not

Thanks.

I'm excited about Brady's impact but didn't know how the whole Ensminger-Brady thing was supposed to play out.

Brady will have plays ready and it’s up to Slinger and O to sign off.

This means Brady is calling the offense. Steve is just the OC with puppet strings. If the offense sputters you can book it that O is going to remove Steve's discretion to decline Brady's suggestions.

This will likely be Steve's last year as OC because those strings will start to chafe.

I wonder if Bama fans ever question Saban’s staff in this way? I say, who cares.....if the system works, it’s a moot point....

It won’t be long and we will see if the added staff improves our offensive play....

I think last season’s offense woes were because of multiple reasons.....lack of experience and strength and depth.....could the offense have been more complex? Yes.....but with multiple phases of the offense lacking experience (including Joe B)....there was no choice but to go with the offense we had....

It’s not what the fans wanted to hear....of course....but it was the truth of the situation....

Wait a minute...

I'll assume for the sake of this discussion that Brady will have some degree of play calling responsibility.

You think if things get hairy that Ensminger would be the one who gets cut out of the loop? That suggestion is hilarious.

I think it's the opposite, Brady will be marginalized if things get dicey. Ensminger is the one that's earned the coach's trust, not Brady. This coach thinks the world of Ensminger.

Yes, he certainly does, and his unconditional love for the guy is what cost us last season. With a top-notch OC last season, we would've gone 11 & 1 and made the playoff.
