Bo Pellini probably has the best run in recent memory.

No. Giving up 6 touchdowns in two triple overtime games against Kentucky and Arkansas says otherwise. Pelini's defense could be solid but not dominating. I believe Aranda will be the GOAT if he stays 2-3 years.

It's too soon to crown Aranda, although he has a very promising start.

This is how I feel as well.

Realize he only has one season under his belt here but I think he's in a league of his own. Hopefully he hangs around long enough to see his scheme and approach reach maturity.

Saban - was great. But seeing how his D's get lit-up by teams with inferior talent tells me he's still hasn't learned how to deal with the unconventional offenses of today.

Pelini - similar to Saban. I don't think he knew how to defend against exotic O's.

Chavis - solid. Against unconventional O's, better than Saban/Pelini.

Aranda - Total package. Can finish as tGOAT.

Pelini is not close to being in this convo. Go look at the yardage stats on him. Even in 07 we got shredded a few times.

Saban was the best.
Aranda is largely a product of his own making as a DC. He's the best other than Saban

Okay to be fair one of those teams had 3 NFL running backs in backfield at the SAME time.

And Muschamp's Auburn D held that team to like 1 TD that year.

Pelini was good. Like most coordinators he has weak spots. What Arky did was one of them.

If ChollY Mac had hired a great offensive coordinator and just kept his hands on the defense no telling how great the teams would have been, go back and look at stats on his defenses in 69 and 70.
