Don't forget Joe Dean got the university hit with a huge lawsuit for violation of Title IX by going on record saying shite like this: "We need to have women's soccer rather than softball, because the girls all look cute in their shorts and their aren't as many lesbians on their team!"

My only gripe with Skip is that he had free reign to build whatever baseball stadium he wanted and he (shockingly) went cheap.

Of that group, Alleva.

His first hire, Trent Johnson, looked good on paper and in his first season. After that it was a complete collapse. Still, after 3 years of bad basketball Alleva wasn't going to do anything. It took Trent parachuting out to TCU on his own. Of course, that led to the hiring of....

Johnny Jones. Just a completely lazy hire. When you are the ONLY power conf. school that would consider hiring a particular coach, there is a reason...he's not a good coach. To be fair, Jones wasn't horrible at LSU (until his final season). But his tenure was largely just a waste of time because he was never going to get LSU to a championship level program.

Everything with Miles was an embarrassment. You literally had a coach carried off the field in his "final game" because everyone, including the coach, thought he was going to be fired...only for the AD to defiantly declare 20 minutes after the end of the game that Miles was their coach and was going to be their coach!! Then you fired him 4 games into the next season.

After firing Miles you had 3 months to zero in on a new coach. You did...then that guy (Herman) tried to leverage you at the very end. You didn't want to get into a bidding war with Texas because you knew Herman was going there anyway. Fine. That's understandable. But then you rush to the podium the next day to hire a guy (Orgeron) NO ONE ELSE in America wanted to hire? O would have taken the job a week before the start of the season. You didn't have to rush to get him.

Ultimately, through remarkable twists of fate, that bozo produced one of the greatest seasons in CFB history. Of course, that gave him the hubris to think he actually had something beyond a surface level understanding of football. Which led to him implementing HIS style of play and quickly plummeting the program to lows not seen in two decades.

The only major hire of Alleva's that seemed like a success was Wade. Ironically, it was Wade who also ended Alleva's AD career when the masses sided with Wade over Alleva in 2019.

Saban hire technically and we are not giving that to a university president because all coaching hires are assigned to the AD in charge

The story goes that Saban wanted $1.2 million. Dean wanted to lowball him, but Mark Emmert - tired of Dean's spendthrift ways - stepped in and told Dean "Pay the man want he wants and get him on campus."

Ok then give me one AD in this country that is perfect and doesn’t have a single issue that LSU should go after?

It really doesn’t matter who LSU hires, the fans are going to bitch and find a reason not to like him regardless

You appear to have done an exhaustive research on the history of LSU athletics. I mean, your list of the 4 worst goes all the way back to 4 Athletic Directors.

I can go back a lot further than you guys would ever want to, so I kept it in the TAF era.
Broadhead was hands down the best AD in the history of the university (at least from the 50’s. But he was before TAF.

Les got to SECCG first year 2005 and 10-2 with Sugar Bowl berth in 2006. At the time, why on earth would Skip fire him? Les got his extension and raise after Saban was already at Alabama.
