That's why it made me laugh so hard at the in-game thread with everyone melting down in there. They may have spent all of 2 days planning for McNeese.

And for you Ofadami (or whatever your lame arse name is) buddy, shouldn't you be more worried about your shitty defense, that will be missing 2 of their starters as well? I would much rather have a good defense than a pretty good offense

Two or three different offensive packages were implemented during the week before McNeese. Memphisplaya can probably confirm that as well. The goal Saturday was to beat McNeese with as little effort and plays as possible, and that was achieved. Keep everyone healthy and continue the Auburn prep. No worries guys.

Didn't LSU do this for the Tulane game in 07 and everyone cried like a baby that they looked bad? Seemed to work out ok in the long run....unlike VT we beat our "James Madisons" and "Jax States" so who really cares what it looked like!?

It was pretty clear to me. Why go out and throw every other down attempting to obliterate McNeese? There's no doubt they weren't showing ANYTHING prior to Auburn week....

Didn't care that we let them hang around. Pretty clear Miles just doesn't give a rat's arse about style points or running up the score. He has his agenda and he is going to follow it no matter what. He wanted to play more players last week, they had like 5 plays on offense and they overlooked McNeese, so did 90% of the fans. Add that to us continually extending drives and killing offensive drives with penalties, you get the outcome Saturday night.

I sure hope all the plainsmen, war eagle, tigers whatever the hell they call themselves this week think they will see that LSU team Saturday.

Well, I would tend to not give Miles the benefit of the doubt when it comes to game preparation, but if there are multiple sources confirming that we did indeed spend the week working on Auburn, this is somewhat comforting to know.

Seeing as how we spent the Florida week working on clock management, we should be much further ahead of the game for Auburn. We should probably work one day on eliminating penalties on plays preceded by a timeout. This is definitely a trend.

I was more concerned with how McNeese owned both lines of scrimmage in the first half. That is not a game planning issue.

Also Jefferson still couldn't pick up a very obvious blitzer before the snap again.

I sure as hell hope we were looking ahead after that lackluster effort Saturday. Sucks for the people who paid money to witness that crap live.

Agreed that these issues had nothing to do with sandbagging the game. However, a lack of focus on the opponent at hand could have led to some of these issues, especially since the McNeese game was the exception this year, and not the rule (regarding the lines). However, I think JJ still struggled when he needed a big game for his confidence. Very sad to see a QB fall so far from grace so fast.

I have heard ex-players say that they realized in hind sight that coaches had them preparing for big future games without them knowing it. The coaches want the players completely focused on the next opponent while they try to slip in some things to get a head start on the following week.

I hope you are not insinuating that McNeese is somehow better than the quality of opponent we have faced in recent weeks.

As far as JJ...we all know its time for him to sit.

awwww, poor baby
You need more than 2 wks to prep, try the whole of next season.
Once again, you're making excuses for the feaux tigers lackluster performance against a junior high school McNeese team.

YOU FAILED miserably

Auburn= 1-4 against Les Miles.

As a McNeese fan, it's pretty obvious we didn't get LSU's A game. If we had, it would have been a vastly different game.

Don't get all worked up about our fan reaction to the fact that we didn't get obliterated.

Most of us are ecstatic that - in a down year - we were able to go to Tiger Stadium and perform well. It was good to see our kids NOT be awed or star struck.

Cody Stroud, our freshman QB starts his first college game at Death Valley, taking his first starting snap on the 4 yardline, staring across the line at Nevis, and looking down field at Peterson. How does he respond? With poise, intelligence and moxie. He moved the chains and when he got the chance, he tossed a TD, giving McNeese a lead.

Andre Alexander, our running back, was getting his first start as well and he handled the experience pretty well. Though to be fair, he was at Michigan State last year, so being in the same conference with Ohio State and Michigan probably had him better prepared for Tiger Stadium than most.

Most of us are proud of our kids, but we understand that LSU's attention was elsewhere. Still, had we not dropped a TD in the endzone, fumbled, threw an interception..or had we not batted down two interceptions that had the potential to be returned for scores, it's hard not to play "what if," even if playing it is a little optimistic on our part.

Our fans are as passionate about our team as you guys are about yours. Surely you noticed the relatively large continent of McNeese fans at the game, right? ;)

We're all dyed-in-the-wool true blue McNeese fans and it's a measure of respect for LSU and it's progam that our fans are perhaps a little unrealistic after NOT getting blown out by LSU, like we expected ;)

I suspect that Miles was playing chess with Auburn. They'll see that you had trouble with a I-AA squad, and - fresh off their 60-something point offensive explosion against Arkansas - they'll be a little overconfident...

I think you guys will do just fine at Jordan-Hare..
