Stingley is the best player on the LSU roster in 2020 and will be again in 2021. Top 5 pick in the the 2022 NFL draft. If he wants to wear #7 then it's him, otherwise I don't see anyone else unless Cox returns. I am a little disappointed that I cannot bring John Emery into this conversation, because I would have thought he would be at that level (5 star recruit) going into his 3rd year at LSU. Didn't work out that way for him. Hopefully, he as well as other high level recruits come back strong so that LSU can rise back up and win another National Championship!

I vote we put an end to the 7 and 18 stuff. It has run its course. It seems to forced now.

Recruits care about a tradition they've had no part of? Seems like a stretch.

Definitely. His age is twice that!

18 has meaning. its not about on field play, its about leadership and hard work.

That’s what naming somebody “captain” used to be for. I wish both practices (7 & 18) would fall by the wayside.

I thought Team Captains carried the most meaning in the past?

Who the hell cares. This #7 bullshite needs to be buried and never brought up again. See how it worked out since the WR Jonathan Giles, transfer from Texas Tech, tanked when he put on the supposedly Superman 7Cape. Then Delpit surely did not represent the number last year (he went backwards, injury my arse), and this year Jacoby Stevens regressed from his previous 2 years and did not live up to the hype.

Wear your own number and be done with this stupid number shite. Same for # 18!!
