I think we’re all expecting both SS and 2B to become open spots next year right? I suppose Thompson could pass up the draft and return next year though.

Thompson will get drafted higher than the vast majority of this board thinks.

We have a ton of infielders in the recruiting class, but one is having TJ right now and will redshirt. We have a JUCO kid coming in that will probably compete at 2nd base.

Every HS infielder coming in has at least some chance to stick at SS.

And we're already evaluating portal options, however limited they currently are.

Y’all wanted to see Skeens bat so he is going to play second for a few games.

Bold assumption that he'll get off the bench during the game

Thompson is definitely gone after this season.

wouldn't mind seeing Jobert given a chance there. Looked good at 3rd the 1 time I remember this year

It'll probably be Nippolt but I'd like to see Merrifield.

If it's just a separated shoulder for Dugas, he shouldn't be gone for long.

I would move Jobert to third, white to DH and Pearson to right and leading off.

But is Merrifield on the travel roster?

I think Nippolt has the inside track to be the shortstop next year. Doesn’t mean someone can’t take it from him tho.

Nothing against Nippolt but he doesnt have the talent level to be an every day player on this roster or probably next years. Just very limited at the plate. He is a good guy to have off the bench though.

If Dugas is out he probably would be

Also crazy to see the fall he had at the start of this season. Absolutely tore the cover off the ball all fall practice, came into the spring and cooled off a bit, and really hasnt been seen much of this season at all. Only came off the bench in OOC games that got out of hand basically. He hasnt come in a game that was decided by less than 6 runs all year.

I think Nippolt is a better hitter than Merrifield. Nippolt looks like the typical guy Mainieri recruited from 2011-2016.

Jobert to 2nd?

Nippolt or Merrifield if Jay brings in the obvious replacement.

Pearson if he tosses in a wildcard.

As his power ticks up, so does his draft spot.

Why is this funny? Did you laugh when they put him at third?
