Breakdown of all the decades
The 0's (starting with 1 AD)
take it how you want it. yeah a decade is any 10 year period, you could say 1985-1994 was a decade, but when you want to refer to team of the decade, you can't arbitrarily choose a starting date. when you say team of the decade, that means each starting year will begin in a zero and the ending date year will end in a 9. sorry, facts are facts

a "decade" can be any 10 year period you want it to be.
referring to the "80's" is clearly referring to the period 1980-1989.
referring to the "new millenium" is clearly, logically referring to the year 2001 and beyond... NOT the year 2000. That was still a part of the last millenium.
we good?
Ok, I'll buy that. I stand corrected. I guess the first "decade" A.D. only had 9 years then.
I guess it's gonna be this way until FB season starts.

What is SO fricking hard to understand?
Count ANY 10 years and you have a decade.
If you say the 2000's then you have a decade DEFINED starting at 2000 and running 10 years from there.. If you say the 90's its the same.. If you say since 01 AD what decade are we in then you count 10 years starting at ONE not Zero.. 1-9 is NOT a decade 1-10 is. It has to be 10 years. It all depends on what your initial definition is. I cant believe this very basic concept is so fricking hard for rantards to understand.. If you say how many championships has LSU won in the LAST decade the correct answer would be 2. If you asked that same question 2 years ago the answer STILL would have been 2 since we also won it in 1997.
A decade is any period of 10 years.. I could start at 1957 and count 10 years from there and its still a decade..![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbanghead.gif)

Obviously Texas is the answer no matter if you include 2000 or not

Decade starts with 2000, per the CWS. They had plaque's outside and the recent plaque had 2000's with LSU winning in 2000. 09 will be the last for the 2000's, so if we can win again next year, we will be the team of the decade. Anything less I will have to say Texas.
Damn smoke.

Have to give the'Horns the edge due to 6 trips and I believe 4 championship appearances. I predict we'll be back on top from '10 thru '19 however.

Two things are VERY obvious to me.
1) Texas has accomplished more during the last decade, and
2) 1 JAN 2000, 6 Jul 2000 and 25 DEC 2000 are NOT part of the nineties...

If we are talking about consistancy, then I am going to say Texas and Cal St. Fullerton. I don't think LSU has been as consitant as those 2 teams this last decade.
