I thought Todd Walker had a good MLB career if I recall. He was a stud at LSU though.

Why did Wilson fizzle out so fast? Seems like he was dominant for such a brief period

It's more surprising for a closer to have a long career than a short one.

Shouldn't be mentioned at all. He had arguably the best college career of any LSU player but his MLB career was rather average. And full disclosure, Todd Walker is my favorite player of all time (see avatar)

I am fond of Russ Springer. He lives across the road from my in-laws. 19 years in MLB using one glove! I love the reason stated in this thread's initial post, too.

Albert Belle by a longshot but I just wanna give Jason Vargas some love. He was only at LSU for a short time but he has had a good MLB career. Currently 8th in the AL in ERA among starters.

Belle and it is not close, remember the Cleveland coach was fired for holding him in the minors way to long. John McNamara was fired at the end of the 1991 season.

It's Belle

However right now might be the greatest collection of LSU talent ever in the MLB when you consider what Nola, Mahtook, Bregman, Lemahieau, Goody, Will Harris,(Schimpf was bashing but not hitting for average) are doing

Agreed. And lots of kids on minor league teams that absolutely will be making their major debut in 12 to 24 months.
