True,but few make such glaring whoppers as this guy. Look at some of these 'recruits' LSU has gone after in football and basketball over the years according to Dandy's "sources" whom he won't follow up on:

Sure,people picking on his typos is a little over the top,but the guy prints any garbage he's fed as the gospel.

What am I missing here? He provides a free service and asks for charitable donations to fund his research, much like St. Jude Hospital.
And to be clear, as I have said in many posts above (but it appears some are only capable of reading a few posts above their own), I appreciate what he does and wish more people "in the know" would do similar things. I was responding to the original poster when he asked about his site. Simply being informative.

I do not know Dandy Don personally, but I remember years ago when LSU was not known as being the elite program that it is now, I would look online for anything pertaining to LSU and Dandy Dons site was a life saver for this Tiger Fan! No matter what typos or info he gets wrong , the guy bleeds purple and gold and he should be applauded for what he does. I appreciate you Dandy Don, and I wish we had many more like ya!

I thought your comparison to a homeless person was little off, and that is what prompted my response. Now you use St. Jude, that is very different from homeless and much better comparison.

Lets end this....Simply put --If you don't read his site (just as you do on TV when you don't watch it). Many of us enjoy his site. I'm retired and on a limited budget, but I'm still able to read his site. I've had the opportunity to meet Don a few times and I've found him to be cordial and dedicated to LSU. If any of you can do better, start you own site.

His name is Donald Long. he lives in the Lafayette area. Was an official for high school sports for many years- He is a life long LSU fan. Knows a lot of the coaches around the states from his years calling games.
Good man. puts a lot of his time into keeping the site going in spite of the moronic comments from some of the people on tis site.

BBATiger- That was the best response on the DD issue. I simply don't believe there is anyone that doesn't go directly to his site when they turn on the computer every day. This is especially true for us out of state Tiger fans. In fact, whenever I run into other Tiger fans, usually the first thing they talk about for news is Dandy Don's site, & I am the one who tells them about The Tiger Rant. Dandy rules...

He is kin to the Long's from Winnfield and that is where he is orinally from. I see him in winnfield from time to time and he is a very nice man. He gets alot of info wrong sometimes but I do appreciate his love for everything LSU
