They're both elite offensive minds. People are bleeding into who is the better head coach instead of who is the better offensive mind as the original question stated. Both have done more with less at QB. Both have generated explosive offenses even though they approach it very differently. You really can't go wrong with either one.

Payton has a Super Bowl Kiffin hasn’t done dick on any level

If we’re talking strictly “offensive mind,” Kiffin has designed multiple offenses that have won national titles and that have been among the best in college football at several different stops. Kiffin “hasn’t done dick” as a head coach comparatively but that wasn’t the question

Agreed on that last part. I may lean Sean just because he has had to out scheme pro defenses who had more time to scout him than college teams have to scout Kiffin but it's really splitting hairs imo.

Kiffin was as good as Payton he’d be in the NFL

Easy to overlook that Bama won the NC 2 out of the 3 seasons that Kiffin was calling plays

Kiffin is a great offensive mind in the college game. He may do great at LSU. There is no way to favorably compare him to Payton’s coaching record and abilities.

Kiffin outshines Payton with how well he’s coached portable players.

For real!! He had no interest in New Orleans until he had no choice

What is the point of this comment? To further try and trash the guy?

I first thought this comment was about Payton, because he wanted the Packers job so bad. Also, because he wormed his way out of New Orleans after he lost his HOF QB and married some young woman.

However, I realize now you're just trying to take a shot at Brees.

Payton also had a HOF at QB
he’s also about to win the division with Bo freaking Nix. It’s okay to admit it. Sean is one of the best offensive minds the sport has seen.
