Who here had the pleasure of watching Pete Maravich play live?

No lying. If you do you will be pretending to be old which is not always well accepted here.

I was a freshman when he was a senior and saw most of his home games that year. Of note was the game when he broke the scoring record.

I did...Class of 68 grad...also Cannon, every home game in the NC championship run of 58. I was 14.

My dad and I went to Parker Ag Center for a few of his games prior to watching the varsity squad play. We went to more once he was on the big team.

I was in the same class with Pete. Even had a few classes with him (but he rarely showed up ha). Saw probably 90% of his home games. I've tried to tell my sons about how he played but honestly words can't describe his vision and talent. Just in a completely different world. Only way to believe how he played is to watch old videos...words just don't do it.

I was in elementary(Walnut Hills) and went to see a lot of games at the Ag Center. Pistol was amazing.

I went to most of his games from 68-70. They had freshman ball then and plenty went to see him play then. Was lucky to see him score 69 points against Alabama at their place...

I saw him play in the NBA. They played the Pacers in a game at the Thibodaux Civic Center. Also saw him in the dome.

Your subtle trick to ferret out the old codgers won't work with me! I'm on to you!

Not college. Watched him play in New Orleans for Jazz. Lucky enough to get his autograph one night after game. Saw him drop 69 vs Knicks. Incredible player.

I watched him play twice when he played for the New Orleans Jazz against Dr J of the 76ers. That is the only two NBA games I have ever watched in person.

lr, I'm on to him as well, but, it did work!!

I'd go outside asap and try to make some of those passes. Living on top of a large hill with a big pasture surrounding you had a lot of advantages, but, not necessarily so in practicing Petes passes by yourself!

Curses!!! Foiled again!!!

It really was not my primary objective, but I did not rule out the possibility of collateral damage.

I saw him play live....but not at LSU. 1978 I went to the super dome for a couple of Jazz games. They lost to the 76ers and beat the Trailblazers in a great game. Glad I got to see him.

Saw him play in the NIT at MSG around 1970. Great experience. Was fortunate enough to see some behind the scenes press conferences(McGuire, Knight, Maravich, Cosell, etc.) what a blast for a young Tiger fan!

I saw him while I was in high school, and as a freshman at LSU. Never saw him play in person after he left LSU.

Anybody remember the night he smacked Apple Sanders square in the face with a no-look behind-the-back pass? Apple never saw it coming.
