Saw him play in the Dome a couple times with the Jazz when I was a kid. I can still hear the announcer ringing out, "Pistooooooool Pete!"

Listened to every radio broadcast and TV showing when he was at LSU and had the pleasure of seeing him live in the dome several times using a friends courtside seats. Loved when we were way up and he was fouled he'd bank the second free throw in.

I saw him play many times at LSU, and a few times for the Jazz. I dont think I have ever seen a better basketball player at his position....although Earl the Pearl was close.
My favorit memory was at the old field house during off season when he made 7 out of 10 hook shots from the half court line.....

Of note was the game when he broke the scoring record.

I was there. against ole miss at the old cow palace (pete's palace wasn't ready until the next year). pistol pete was amazing to watch; even the guys on the other team enjoyed watching him. when he was close to breaking the record (Oscar Robertson held it) the ole miss players kind of backed off and let him shoot; they wanted to see it too.

I was in the service the whole time he was at LSU. I did manage to see him in an exhibition game In Jacksonville, Florida at Jacksonville University (Artis Gilmore days @ JU) when Atlanta played the Celtics. Must have been 1970. An amazing ball handler!

Caught most of his games at the cow palace. I feel very fortunate to have witnessed those floppy socks in action.

I went to most of his games when he was on the Freshman team and the Varsity team. When he was on the Freshman team they played just before the Varsity team played. Most people got up and left when the Freshman team was done.

Then there was the annual Freshman Team vs. the Varsity Team game. Press was the coach of the Varsity, one of his assistants was coach of the Freshman. The Freshman with Pete beat the Varsity. The first and only time the Freshman won. I can still remember the Varsity walking off the court with there heads down in shame.

Saw about half or maybe a few less of home games at ag center his last 2 years. No 3 point line in those days but he took a lot of shots that would be 3's today. Ag center floor was weird, kind of wavy with soft and hard spots, ball might bounce in strange directions depending on where on the floor. Pete new all the spots and took advantage of them.
Unquestionably the GOAT. Nobody anywhere close to his level ever since. Not just the shooting, ball handling and passing were his greatest strengths.

Saw Pete and the team when I was in junior high... they came to the Rapides Parish Coliseum when Pete was a freshman or sophomore (don't remember - that was a long time ago) and I believe they were doing a state tour to show off Pete.

I kept a Pistol Pete scrap book of clippings that I cut from the Alexandria Daily Town Talk sports section and remember the picture of Pete taking the shot that broke the scoring record. Like my memory...those clippings are lost

My grandparents. They have had season tickets every year since Pete was here and we were playing in the Cow Palace.

Watched Pete score 66 at Tulane (not sure of the year) and LSU still lost.
Found an article on it, it was 1969. The guy guarding him in the photo is Harold Sylvester, the actor who was Al Bundy's sidekick at the shoe store.

Was just a kid, but Dad took me to see quite a few of his games at Cow Palace.

Then later in what I think was one of the only games he ever played ever in the PMAC. The Jazz vs Hawks NBA preseason game. (double header with LSU Purple vs Gold game).
After the game we waited by the locker room in hopes of getting Pete's autograph. When Pete came out the locker room, He was super nice, gave me and my buddy autographs then was nice enough to bring us into the locker room and introduce us to Jazz coach and NBA legend Elgin Baylor following that he brought us back into the now near empty arena and waited while Hot Rod Hundley wrapped up his post game, making sure we got his autograph as well. Super Night for a 13 year old kids. Thanks again Pete.
